Yeremiah Bell question

I hope we keep him....he's got great football instincts and certainly a playmaker. Makes you really wonder why Saban didn't play him sooner last season???
 
he's still a FA but he's restricted and we put a 2nd round tender on him so he's not going anywhere. we are just focusing on more pressing issues right now
 
Tendered 2nd round, Kffl reported like 2 weeks ago his tender was scaring off all his suitors,
 
He isn't signed, but he really only has two choices. Sign with Miami, or go to another team and we get an extra 2nd round pick. With that said, he will be a Dolphin in 2007, but anything beyond that is up in the air.

No one is going to give up a 2nd rounder for Bell so he's not going any where and I'm excited about that. I love Bell as he rejuvenated our team in the 2nd half of the year leading us to a 4 game winning streak.

But after that streak, Bell kind of came back down to earth and showed us why he wasn't starting all along. Did you guys watch that Jets game on Christmas? Bell got torched a few times which essentially cost us the game.

Bell is a very good safety and I hope he is starting next year, but he does have some weaknesses. He can ball hawk at times, but he also struggles in coverage against some of the best.
 
I don't see us signing Yeramiah till after the draft. You never know what can happen there. Also the Dolphins are focusing on other personell issues now.

tillman is better at supporting the run, while bell excells at coverage. Saban thought teams were gonna grind us because the offense sucks so he figured run D was more important....after we put bell in the stats show that the run D did suffer a little bit...but it wasn't all that bad considering we stopped giving up bombs all the time...

We already tendered him. he can sign it whenever he wants..it's in his best interests not to so that he can work out a long term contract with another team and then give the fins the opportunity to either match, or take a 2nd as compensation. If he signs his tender then he is no longer able to negotiate with other teams, limiting his options to just hoping that we sign him long term...

Actully Bell is better at run support and struggles in coverage. See Christmas night game.

Yep, his coverage skills weren't great last year, but I think he could be a pretty good cover safety. His big thing is that he is a "ball hawk" and a playmaker where ever he is on the field . . . one thing this team has is some solid run support guys in the secondary.
