Have you noticed how every time he does make a play he acts like some big badass and talks smack to the other team. The guy needs to grow up with all the talk and let his play talk for him. All his play says right now is, "I suck and I'm soft..."
 
I have said for a while he is no good. Can't cover for ****.

Dude, bell is no longer solid, not even close. Go to the tape.
 
One problem is not actually Bell's. A problem is that Bell now actually has to cover more to make up for the fact that ****-ups like Smith can't cover 1-on-1 for an entire play. They can only cover the short pass and are lost past 15 yards. Bell was fine when we had Goodman and Allen a few years ago...now he has to work with Carroll and Smith...we are lucky they didn't score 50 on us.
 
Bell may be over-rated this year, AND past his prime ... BUT ...

Bell had 14 tackles today, better than our stars, young'uns, screw ups, mis-fits, etc.

He ain't much, but he's all we got!!
 
Bell had about the worst game I've ever seen him have today. He was a beast when he was a young starter, but that is long past.
 
i have been telling my friends this about bell since last year. He is the new channing crowder of the D. he just kinda sticks around but doesnt do ****. He hasnt made a real play since like 2007 or 08. he hasnt been able to cover a single TE in this league in about 4 years and cant catch a ball that hits him in the face. All he can do is tackle people 5-10 yards down field. But the whole D sucks the fat one. They play soft and slow and cant tackle anyone. They have missed like 5-6 sacks this year cuz they cant even bring a QB down once they have him in thier crosshairs. No one can cover and we cant put any pressure on the QB even when we blitz 2-3 guys. Its sad cuz we should be 2-2 or atleast 1-3 but our D is so bad
 
Bell has never been great, his tackle numbers are what get people saying o he's not bad. In reality all he knows how to do is be a run stuffer, after that he has next to none coverage skills. He's a one dimensional safety.
 
Never good when the safety has 14 tackles in a game. I would say Bell is average at best he has declined from what he could do 3-4 years back. Yet another need on the team that needs to be addressed next season.

Yeremiah Bell generated a turnover in his 7 first career starts, or something like that. And he was a darn far cry better than what we had running out there, and his play was primarily what vaulted a 1-6 or 1-7 team back to relevance for a time in 2006.

That was a long time ago, but there was a point in time when Yeremiah Bell was good. It's just not now.
