Yes this is another randy thread but it is seeing the situation from another angle

i think that saban should try and take advantage of this situation by not releasing him or fining him but renegotiating his contract and freeing up cap room.

any thoughts or any other suggestions

randys gonna want big money. this isn't gonna change anything. He could get big money somewhere else if he has to next year.

There isn't enough money on Randy's current contract to re-negotiate with!

I've seen the same idea at least three times in the other two threads, this is not a new angle.

It's dirt cheap by NFL standards and there is not much to work with as far as freeing up cap room. The only thing this does is bring into question whether we'll re-sign him or not.

If we re-sign him, it will be for a contract substantially less than what Todd Heap got (6 years, $30 million) and/or contain extremely strict clauses allowing the Dolphins to recover all of his signing bonus and slash his base salary if he acts up again.

Honestly, I'm sure not many fans agree with me, but this guy is starting to be a headache. I agree he has the skill, but I just don't like the path he is taking. And this isn't a one time thing, so you can't bring this up being an isolated issue. I know he's asking for more money, as is more than half the league, but I just get this vibe that he doesn't really give a crap about the team, and he would actually prefer going somwhere else. I agree with the post though, and if we could get him to discount his price tag due to these issues, it would be a plus. I just don't think that Saban should break the bank, or give him everything he wants. I think that's the great part of having a new regime. If McMike gives him crap wanting an extra few cents, Saban doesn't have any connection or responsibilty to him, he can just say you know what, I don't have to deal with your crap, go to Oakland or something.

I just noticed how many times I said crap, sorry it's hard finding words to replace sh*t, and I'm an ex-marine, so those type of words come like second nature to me
