The remaining schedule is not nearly as difficult as it once looked to be.
The Browns with Brisket, then a bye to heal... and if Ogbah and our CBs can get healthy, we could go on a run.
Texans, Niners, and Chargers followed by the AFC East... and the moribund Packers on Christmas day.

We'll be favoured in every one of these games except for the Bills game, and possibly the road game in San Francisco.

Win next week's game and we are looking VERY good; that bye could not come at a better time.

You are not going to beat teams when your defense plays like it did today. And forget the super bowl

The D must improve for a serious Super Bowl run. That being said this D has the talent. And many Super Bowl teams of the modern era won with a D who improved as the season went along. It’s not really about the truly best team but the team who finds a sync for the perfect timing of a run in January. If Tua, Waddle and Tyreek stay healthy Miami can find that run as much as anyone.

Think the defense will improve with Chubb providing more pass rush. I don’t think they would of struggled as much vs a traditional offense. It’s the running qbs that have always given us problems. Ravens in the playoffs scares me even though we’ve beat them last two times. Have to make it until Byron Jones gets back then we can put a pass rush with coverage together.

There really isn't a dominant team in the NFL this year...
Hell... the Bungles went to the prom last year and they were FAR from dominant... or even the best AFC team.
When people say... we aren't good enough... I say... then tell me who is?
Buffalo? Who we beat... and who just lost to the Jesters?
KC? Who have lost twice and barely beat a Titans team with no QB?
Don't say Philly who while unbeaten, should have lost to a couple of teams..

This isn't an era where teams are dominant. This attitude of... whine... snivel... but our LBs are bad and I have gout... needs to stop.

D just needs to get to average, and it should be good. Miami can absolutely win out even if the D continues to play poorly, but they're leaving the offense with a very small margin for error.

ANY/A = adjusted net yards per attempt btw - includes TD, sacks, and INT's.

I learned not to take the schedule for granted. Dude, we got smoked against the Jets. 49ers are a very tough team Offensively and defensively. Sooner or later the Packers will put a win on the board, of course they have our defense on the schedule, how fitting.
Who knows how this will play out but winning the way we are is not sustainable for success

I have us losing to the Niners and the Bills. The NE game is a toss up as well. That said, if you get hot at the right time, a deep run is possible because of the parody in the NFL.

Passing offense is the most sustainable thing in football. More likely the D regresses to the mean (and improves) than Miami's offense regresses to the mean (and gets worse).

We have too much talent on D to be playing this poorly. All teams deal with injuries so that is a poor excuse. Our front seven on paper is quite nasty. Ogbah, Wilkins, Davis, Chubb, Ingram, Baker and Van Ginkle are all very good players. The defensive backfield still has Holland and X as well as very capable youngsters filling in. So, I'm putting this on coaching. It's like if we can't have Jones and X on the island we can't play our defense. Nobody is getting to the passer and how could a #1 pick like Phillips get outflanked 4 or 5 times by Fields, stay at home, dude!!
What is this scheme? It needs to be changed because we're getting carved up like a Thanksgiving Turkey. We get no pass rush and we give up like 180 yards running to a QB. He's a great runner but give me a break. We don't need for players to set all time records against our defense. It makes us look like dog crap. I'd really sit down with Boyer and I'd give him some new marching orders. Get this improved, FAST, or we'll get someone who can. Keeping the entire defense in tact should have created an improved defense over last season's but it looks worse, much worse. Get this mass fixed. Credit to the D for the couple of stops in the end to preserve the win.
