Chris Gray to come back for his 15th season

Johnson dumps Chris Gray and he goes on the start for Seattle for NINE years. 121 consecutive starts. I don't even want to know how many guards Miami has started over those 121 games.

Clearly with the legendary Jeff Buckey and Everett McIver on the roster, Gray was not needed at RG. What an idiot.

I hate him for ruining dan's career by not supporting him and blaming him every chance he got. am i supposed to hate him for yatil green or john avery too? ummm so we picked up a player that would become one of the best RBs in the XFL ever...didnt he also drop rich gannon?

that's why Jimmy failed here... because he continued to place blame on everyone and everything else. Once you start doing that... the things or people that were working for you began to fall apart as well.

You can't blame Jimmy for that one Chris Gray definately sucked when he was a Fin!

As for not supporting Dan, it could be said that Dan ruined Jimmy's career because Jimmy didn't help Dan see the light that it was time to retire earlier, and Jimmy didn't want to hear the Fans wine about it. So Dan stayed 2 years to long.

Yeah like I won't get hate postings over this one.

Well it was either poor personnel evaluation or poor coaching, because after he left Miami, he became a very steady performer. Also, it's not like he had a stud RG waiting to fill the spot.

It's all hindsight now...

Cpufan it is not wise to come in a dolphins forum and say anything bad about Dan Marino. It is the same as going in a republican forum and talking trash about Ronald Reagan. Actually Dolfans prolly love Marino More then Pubs Like Reagan so it's that big a deal.

One more comment on the Dan thing, I loved Dan he was the Greatest. Unfortunately he was also the reason the Fins haven't won the Superbowl in decades.

Why you ask?

Because he was such a Great Player he always got poor Miami teams either in the playoffs or close to the playoffs. That caused Miami to draft at the Middle of the pack or worse.

Therefore the Fins never rose above the middle of the pack in wins...

I hate JJ for cutting Norman Hand, Marco Coleman, Troy Vincent.

Troy was traded... Norman was let go because the Fins had other players to take his spot; As in Tim Bowens who was much better... And Marco Coleman was let go because he was to light in the tail and weak on run defense, he was constantly giving up the outside edge to runners, as in the Fins killer from Buffalo Thurman Thomas...

I'd say Marino stayed one season too long. 1997 (2nd in the league in passing yards) and 1998 (3500 yds passing 23 TDs) were decent years for Marino. JJ's decision to fire Stevens and replace him with Kippy Brown is laughable. The decision to remove audibles was tragic. I remember reading in 1998 or 1999 that the Fins had attempted the fewest passes in the red zone in the entire league. I'll never forget watching this sequence of plays over and over again....run - no gain, run - no gain, pass, punt.

True Kippy was bad, Very bad.

But Jimmy took the audibles away because he would never run the pays that were called. Even Shula had problems with it although he gave up on it in the end.

Miami's first-round pick in the 1992 draft, Vincent played four seasons with the Dolphins before signing with Philadelphia as a free agent in 1996.

Vincent was not traded, JJ let him walk.

I remember this cat, he wasn't that good when he was with us. He obviously improved when he left us and went to Chicago before he went to Seattle.
