You all who want Eric Kendricks in the first.

With Willis and Borland retiring the Niners are very likely to take Eric Kendricks at #15 if we don't or if we trade down. With that in mind, what would you rather? Stay put at #14 and pick Kendricks there, or trade down and recoup our third or even gain a second but miss on Kendricks?

I personally don't understand the infatuation with him. Every analyst out there says his best fit is a 4-3 WILL linebacker. I would question his ability to play middle linebacker for this team. A lot like Ellerbe, trusting him to play as good as a MLB is risky, too risky for me to like the pick at 14

Yeah, but you'd probably be the first guy clamoring and complaining if that elite talent is a defensive tackle.

If we traded down to the late, late teens or early twenties and Danny Shelton was still there I would take him in a heart beat or Brown/Goldman in the late 20's or Phillips late, late first, early second. Heck I'd take Carl Davis at #47. That's good value.

People said the same thing about Zach Thomas.....he is not a first rounder....we got him in Round 5, and he was the best linebacker we ever had,,,,Nick Buoniconti was right there as well. We ned a MLB, so to me it's either Kendricks or Perryman.

It's ridiculous to come to that conclusion. Just because we have a gaping need at MLB doesn't mean it's "very likely" we go MIKE. Niners have plenty of needs, the draft can't be oversimplified like that. I haven't heard anyone talk up Kendricks as a top 20 player except Josh Norris and people on this board.

Ive yet to see anyone who doesn't like kendricks at 14 give a reason why.
