:) Nick Saban is one of the most masterfull coaches i have ever seen. He is putting our players in bad situations to see how they will react.. Throwing at the end was not what we should of done, nick knows this, it was his test for gus, to see if gus would take charge and check off to a running play. The offensive line was mad as hell afterwords, sounds to me like they want to take a game over and run it down the opponents throat. thats a big change isnt it, they are passing the test!!! We need to evaluate players when they are in bad positions to see what kind of character they have, im sure you will all agree that a player in a perfect situation will make the play, but it tells you nothing about that player. Nick is rebuilding this team, part of that process is to find out what kind of character our players have, how do they react in difficult situations, our focus is not and should not be on winning right now, we are not a good enough team to worry about that. why win an extra game or two finish 8-8 and miss out on a high draft pick that makes absolutely no sense. we all agree ronnie was the best pick in the draft now, Nick knew it all along.. so now lets get another one next year and get our QB

You're kidding right???!

I dont think we are testing gus during the game...and wasting the players time the fans time...and the NFL's time.....however....Gus is failing the starting QB role...and is showing why he has been a lifetime backup.

I read three sentences and stopped. No way no how. Linehan was put in charge of the entire O. And now we see what Scott Linehan is all about. nuff said.

When it is down to the end of the game and you are in it you try to win. End of story. He had the whole game to test players. And futher, if GUS failed his secret test, what do you do with GUS next week.

I see logic in your idea, but do not believe Saban would put us in a situation to lose just to test players. Although I believe he is testing players...

I don't know about a test, but I know we are not good enough this year to do anything. But damn I like what I see. Gus obviously can't get the job done. I really like the way we play better as the game goes on, that really tells me alot. I can't wait for the draft and next year. Even when we lose for the first time I really enjoy the games, because I truely see our team transofrming into something good.

interesting.
So let me get this straight...our coordinators are using ineffective plays near the goalline that could win us the game to test a QB we know is not the future of this team?

Explain to me how testing Frerottes decision making has any bearing on the future of this team.

You know its almost crazy enough to be true, something has to explain the play calling, I hope it is this and not just plain stupidity or stubbornness from our coaching staff.

I used to think that way when I was about 12. I'm serious. Now I understand that these are competitive people in competitive circumstances. No coach would purposefully do anything that would shake his team's confidence in itself or in him. Nick wants buy in from the guys. Losing and playing mindgames does the opposite. Go back to your thinking chair and come up with another way to deal with this.

why wouldnt a coach test his team in a rebuilding year. he is not worried about our record he wants our team to learn how to win to teach our younger players how to win, how to get through adversity, he is setting a tone and he is finding out a lot about our players. i have had new jobs before where they throw you sharks and you either swim or sink. why would it be any different in football.
