I have taken cra@ for being too positive which is fine. I saw the game today. I pose this question for conversation, and debate. You are Nick Saban, do you address the QB situation this year, or wait until next year with Free Agency, and the draft? Do you give Sage a chance, or is he not the answer?

If you decide to go after a quarterback via a trade, do you package players like Gordon, Ricky, Moore, and or some of young receivers who are doing good, such as Mann, or Davis? If you do decide to trade Ricky, we would to give him more carries the next two pre-season games.

Just interested to see your responses!:drinkers:

Wait until next offseason to get a QB. Whether it's a trade or the draft, I'd wait. I'd go with Frerotte this season.

Just pray man :o

I think you stick with what you have, and wait until an actual regular SEASON game has been played to consider any trades. It's still early in a new system so both QB's struggling isn't unusual, Frerotte should have been better since he knows the system but he still is getting used to know players. But if there still is really know signs of life by the first week of the regular season, i think you do try to make a trade. Lamar Gordon and Eddie Moore both may intrigue teams. Also who knows maybe some teams may want to trade FOR Feeley or Frerotte, like Chicago who lost Grossman.

im 100% with you on that one

I just looking for the idea do we suck it up, and play ball this year with what we got, stay on the phone for possibilities this year, or have our scouts attend the games of the canidates we would like to sign next year.

we go with gus, and play ball. We should have a solid running game this year. We do keep an eye in the college game though, because we do need to bring in a QB next draft.

After just watching last night's game I think it is clear Frerotte is the guy and I hope this curbs the QB arguments and the Feeley supporters arguments. Frerotte's numbers weren't there on paper, however, he knows the intangibles better. He can read the defense better, manage the snap count better, avoid rushes and think under pressure better, and to be honest IMO he throws a more pretty ball. Just seems like AJ is always throwing lasers regardless. AJ just doesn't promote that feeling of confidence or calmness back there. Gus is no dynamo, but I feel 75% of the time he will make the right decision as opposed to AJ who I see more at 25%.

What intrigues me even more now though is Sage and Brock. I am a UofM fan as well and must say Brock was a;ways up and down with me, however, I like what he has done so far in camp and preseason games. Not only is he showing physical improvement but also toughness and mental growth.

After 2 games and a couple years under the belt of watching all 4 QBs, I'm inclined to wonder if it is even worth having AJ at all. I think Sage could be the #2 and Brock hold down the hardly ever played 3rd spot. Salary and previous roster position will definitely keep Feeley on this team though unless a trade offer comes along.

Thanks for the input. I have a feeling that Nick,a nd Randy might be keeping the phones right now, trying to shore up the team the best they can.

Well said as far as I am concerned from what I have seen AJ should be competing for a spot on the team NOT the top spot!

1) Play Frerotte. He's not great, but he can move the offense w/less mistakes than Feeley

2) I keep AJ Feeley as #2 because he's a quality backup that can take over the offense and do better than many backups. Plus, he's young and can mature w/the proper tutilege. Hell, Frerotte was lousy too in his early career.

3) Finally get rid of Sage next year and Draft a QB next year. Draftng a QB is always such a gamble, rarely does it produce a quality starting good QB. So get rid of Sage, and groom someone who has potential. Despite the Sage lovers on this board, he'll never start.

Nick can do nothing this year. There isn't time to teach a new QB the offense.

Next year:

Let the Chargers choose and try to grab the QB they don't want. Brees should be free except for the contract, and Rivers won't have much value to them because teams don't give up fair value to a team in a position of weakness.

If that doesn't work, try to find a good value on a veteran (like Aaron Brooks should he be released).

The final option is to take a QB in the draft.

I think Miami will have to trade AJ along with some other guys in a package for a 4th round pick or somthing.

I dont think many ppl will be willin to give anything more than a 4th for AJ at least not the way he has been playin these couple games. Mabye if he improves the next 3 preseason games well keep him

Its still early...and its all up to Saban but i expect Brock to stay on this team

Agreed!! All the QB arguments aside. From a pure football perspective, if someone gave me tapes of the first 2 games played so far and I had never watched the team or knew fo them...and someone asked me to pick 3 of the QBs to be on the team...in an honest answer I would say Frerotte, Berlin, Sage in that order. Now mind you Sage would be #3 because as being a first time viewer Berlin's throwing and TD scores would wow me a bit more.
