Sorry, can't do it any more! After I saw Jamar Fletchers name I got too depressed to finish. Man, Miami has has some really bad, lousy drafts. Almost makes you want to go get sick or something. Maybe if I went outside and threw something agains't the side of the house I will feel better. Yukkk.....

GO DOLPHINS...................#1 :cooldude:

I'm not very old, so I'm only going to do more recent drafts.

2001: 1st Chad Johnson ( seriously I remember thinking how good this guy was going to be, don't know why, just did)
2nd: Gary Baxter
3rd: Cory Bird (Yeah I know)

2002: 3rd: trade up, Jeff Hatch

2003: 2nd: I'll admit it, I wanted Eddie Moore
3rd: Chris Simms, but at the time I never thought he would become a starter, just picked him, because we had no good QB, and needed a project.
2004: 1st: Vernon Carey (local boy)

2005: 1st:Trade up, Alex Smith
2nd: Matt Roth
3rd: Verand Morency ( Sry Channing)

2006: 1st: Laurence Maroney
3rd: Brodie Croyle

I'll admit that I was on the McPherson bandwagon a couple of years ago. I probably would have drafted him in the third instead of Crowder, which would have been a mistake

None of that made any sense.

Maybe it had something to do with those 8 beers...

Kind of hard to remember who I wanted at the time without obviously being biased one way or another depending on how they panned out.

Two that clearly stand out in my mind was Manny Lawson last year over Jason Allen, jury is still out on that one. The other was Drew Brees over Fletcher, that one ruined my day.

And for everyone bashing JP Losman, look at his stats from the last half of the season last year and tell me you wouldn't want him as our starting QB next year.

Theres so much crap i woulda done different for this team...It would take the whole day to come with all the bad FA's signing,Bad/Terrible drafts and some trades too.

Come on bro, that ruined more than just ONE day.

I'm just going to do the last 2 years because its easy to look back and find a player we didn't choose that was the pick of the round.
2005
1. Ronnie Brown
2. Khalif Barnes (I like Roth but at the time really wasn't a need and Barnes could have fixed are LT problem)
3. Channing Crowder (With Charlie Frye off the board I feel we made the right choice)
4. Travis Daniels(Really nobody I wanted bad so Daniels was a good pick)
5. Anthony Alabi (same as top)
7. Kevin Vickerson (7th round is a crapshoot)
2006
1. Antonio Cromartie
3. Ko Simpson(before the draft I was wanting to trade down and take him in the late 1st getting him in the 3rd would've been a steal buffalo get him in the 4th)
4. Toledo was a good pick
5. Manny Wright good pick
7. Rod Wright good pick
7. Fred Evans good pick
7. Stanley McClover
Oh and I would have given are 3rd this years for Ahmad Brooks.
The defense would look like this:

LE-Rod Wright, Kevin Vickerson
NT-Keith Traylor, Fred Evans
DT-Vonnie Holiday, Manny Wright
RE-Jason Taylor, Stanley McClover
LOLB-Ahmad Brooks
MLB-Zach Thomas, Derrick Pope
ROLB-Channing Crowder
CB-Antonio Cromartie
CB-Will Allen
FS-Ko Simpson
SS-Yeremiah Bell

Sorry, can't do it any more! After I saw Jamar Fletchers name I got too depressed to finish. Man, Miami has has some really bad, lousy drafts. Almost makes you want to go get sick or something. Maybe if I went outside and threw something agains't the side of the house I will feel better. Yukkk.....

Fletcher just signed with the Texans 2 years, 2.4 million, that's 1.2 per year. Amazing as it is, he has made over 15 million dollars in the NFL.

I'll have a stab at re-doing the drafts and taking a guy that Miami could have/should have taken in the same general vicinity (no more than 10-15 picks lower than the guy they really took)

I'll go back to 2000:

2nd round: Laveranues Coles, WR
3rd: David Barrett, CB
4th: Clark Haggans, LB
5th: Dante Hall, KR/WR
6th: Tom Brady, QB :)
7th: Patrick Pass, FB

2001
1st: Reggie Wayne, WR
2nd: Shaun Rogers, DT
3rd: Reggie Hayward, DE
3rd: Jonas Jennings, T
5th: Patrick Chuckwurah, LB/DE
6th: Cedric Wilson, WR
6th: Ellis Wyms, DT
6th: David Martin, TE
6th: Jimmy Williams, CB/PR

2002
3rd: Brian Westbrook, RB
4th: Randy McMichael, TE
5th: Verron Haynes, RB
5th: Justin Hartwig, C
7th: Kevin Shaffer, T

2003
2nd: Osi Umenyiora, DE
3rd: Derrick Dockery, G
3rd: Chris Simms, QB
5th: Dan Koppen, C
5th: Tony Pashos, T
6th: Hanik Milligan, S
6th: David Tyree, WR
6th: Yeremiah Bell, S
7th: Scott Shanle, LB

2004
1st: Vince Wilfork, DT
4th: Jerrico Cotchery, WR
5th: Thomas Tapeh, FB
6th: Rex Hadnot, C/G
7th: Derrick Pope, LB
7th: Bobby McCray, DE

2005
1st: Ronnie Brown, RB
2nd: Matt Roth, DE
3rd: Channing Crowder, LB
4th: Travis Daniels, CB
5th: Anthony Alabi, T
7th: Reynaldo Hill, CB

2006
1st: Antonio Cromartie, CB
3rd: Anthony Smith, S
4th: Steven Gostkowski, K
7th: Fred Evans, DT
7th: Rodrique Wright, DT
7th: Dee Webb, CB

Based on just the drafts, the roster would be:

QB: Tom Brady, Chris Simms
RB: Ronnie Brown, Brian Westbrook, Verron Haynes
FB: Patrick Pass, Thomas Tapeh
WR: Laveranues Coles, Reggie Wayne, Jerrico Cotchery, Cedric Wilson, Dante Hall, David Tyree
TE: Randy McMichael, David Martin
T: Jonas Jennings, Kevin Shaffer, Tony Pashos, Anthony Alabi
G: Rex Hadnot, Derrick Dockery
C: Dan Koppen, Justin Hartwig
DE: Osi Umenyiora, Reggie Hayward, Matt Roth, Bobby McCray
DT: Vince Wilfork, Shaun Rogers, Ellis Wyms, Fred Evans, Rodrique Wright
LB: Clark Haggans, Channing Crowder, Scott Shanle, Patrick Chuckwurah, Derrick Pope
CB: Antonio Cromartie, David Barrett, Reynaldo Hill, Travis Daniels, Dee Webb, Jimmy Williams
S: Yeremiah Bell, Anthony Smith, Hanik Milligan
K: Steven Gostkowski

The best draft by far was Saban's first draft. It's sad that only McMichael, Hadnot, Pope, and Bell were the right decisions pre-Saban. Obviously, some positions are lacking, but overall this team would win a championship.
