The talent level on this team is honestly just nowhere near where it needs to be. Even the "good" players on the team are in large part average at best players that are overrated by Dolphins fans. There are very few players on this roster I would consider essential moving forward. Off the top of my head:
Jarvis Landry
Reshad Jones
Mike Pouncey
Jelani Jenkins
Suh (only if you don't consider his ridiculous contract)
Tannehill (not essential by any means, in my opinion, but would keep him, at least short term, due to there not being many upgrade options)
Frankly, Jenkins really doesn't deserve to be there, either. I just appreciate him given how unbelievably horrid the LBs are. He is imminently replaceable, all things considered. Ditto Lamar Miller, who I was tempted to throw in there. Bottom line, though- he isn't a special player. He can be productive and I feel he has played his ass off this year considering what he has been up against most weeks, but there are probably 5-7 RBs that come out every year (or more) who could perform at that level or better.
That's pretty much it. Everyone else is either lousy, old and washed up, way too inconsistent, too young and inexperienced to really be judged yet, or just good enough to be on a roster until someone better is found. Pretty damn sad, though. Six players, and that is with one of the six being a pretty big stretch and another being there only because there simply isn't a clear upgrade out there.
