You cannot be surprised at the poor image of the Phins in the media anymore

Realize that in madden, John Jerry has a higher ranking than Sean Smith, thats some BULL****

We haven't been bottom feeders since the Cameron era. Under Tony we have been middle of the road or better each season. Still not good enough, but I'd hardly say we are among the bottom feeders at this point. Time will tell though =)

Its not year by year, if you look at the last 5 years or the last 10 years we are bottom feeders! We are always changing coaches, have crappy QB play. And are boring and always doing stupid things to be made fun of the media (Harbaugh debacle, Orton debacle, 1-15 season, Gator day...etc) those are signs of a bottom feeder!

All this negativity is a ####ing drag. Everywhere you look, whether it be in the national media, this site, or local writers in the paper there hardly ever seems to be anything positive said or written. I mean, it's not that bad man. #### it. All we have to do to get rid of this annoying doom and gloom is win. That's it. Simple solution. That's gonna happen one day. We will be winners again and all this crap will disappear.

FO doing dumb things doesn't mean the team is the bottom feeders of the NFL...remarkably, I think we have actually out-performed what should have been expected with some of the crap that's gone on here.

Also, we have been in the running since Shula came here. Then the Marino years. So we have been a contender all those years. Now, everyone sees us as a joke with the carousel of coaches and qb's over the years. OMG, we have become the Raiders! haha!

Exactly.
All Miami teams have a bad image in the media. It doesn't help that a lot of the media is generated in the North East, and most analysts on these media outlets are and always have been Miami haters. It is what it is. The Phins, and Miami teams in general haven't exactly been the spitting image of what to look up to. The Heat get reamed for not winning the NBA Finals on a daily basis. According to ESPN the Heat were supposed to fizzle out sometime during the playoffs and not even make the Finals. They proved them wrong and still get crap for it. They love to hate Miami. I mean just look at their opinions on UM's debacle.

Phin highlights have been non-existent for years now, unless it's for getting destroyed by the Pats. I can't tell you how many times last year on Sports Center's sidebar thing a Dolphin game highlights were up there for a second and then it got booted for some other bs. So be it. We have to prove the media wrong and produce wins.

We have been one of the five worst teams in the NFL for 10 years now. Some people fail to see that. We are a bottom feeder in this league.

It sucks cause its "our" team but if your objective about it we are the Browns, Raiders, Bills, Lions...etc. That's us!

If the media said "nice things" about the Fins I would question their thinking. Media doesn't get paid to sugar coat things, they report what they see.

mike, i go to bills games when they win 4 games. they still show up and they still make a lot of noise and they still have a good time and they take their aggressions out on oppossing fans. Just to say FU. our fans dont even come close. and i am talkin in two feet of snow too. this fanbase drives the dissrespect. the media follows it and its a vicious cycle. yeah, we have been bad, but lets face it, in the end, people up north just do not get the hollywood in s. florida sometimes. the water does something to people down there bro!

The Dolphins have been making too many poor decisions while deluding themselves and their fans into believing there is hope for too long. Year after year, Miami is a contender. And year after year, they don't even make they playoffs. People don't like that. I sure don't. You can't believe that they even know what they need to win. So the only people holding out and sticking with them are going to be real Dolphin fans like us. It isn't pleasing to be a Dolphins fan right now. So don't expect the media to support the Dolphins. Media support comes when you get the formula right and win.

I mean, dude here has a point. I hate to say it, but he does. Reality is a ***** sometimes.

You guys can sugar coat things all you want, but this dude here is just telling it like it is. Its hard to fathom for a lot of us who were around for times long ago, but its just the case. Id like to know what are record overall is starting with Wrongstedts last season and compare it to the rest of the league over that same time span.

Its sad because this used to be a franchise that was easy to homer up on and make arguments like our top CB is better than the CB that everyone else perceives is the best. We used to make the playoffs almost every year. We used to be that team that at least one person on each talk/highlight show thought would come out of the AFC either before the season or once the playoffs started.

Now were just another team that has made one trip to the playoffs in quite a few years. Were a team that isnt expected by most fans from other teams dosent expect to win more than 8 games. Were a team that cant seem to find a QB that everyone assumes will run the team for the next decade.

We have NO IDENTITY. This regime was supposed to make us a bruising, smash mouth style team. That simply hasnt happened. This team needs a face of the franchise. Someone that everyone knows is the leader and someone that everyone involved in football respects as that, no matter if they like him or not.

No sugar coating here, looking at our record we were bottom feeders one time under Cam in the last 5 years. That's my point. All this other stuff, bad PR moves, whatever the FO is doing, crazy entertainment junk, ect. is all very valid too. I guess, to me, it's just not the same as being a bottom feeder record wise. We have plenty of issues, but despite them all we tend to be a middle of the road kinda team. And heck no, that's not god enough.

Maybe bottom feeders is being defined differently by some of us.

We have the ability to play with the best, and the unfortunate ability to stoop down to the worst. That is the definition of middle of the road. To whoever was saying that we are among the bottom 5 teams, that's ridiculous. It's one thing to sugarcoat, and it's another thing to actually consider other teams in the league.

Bengals, Bills, Broncos, Browns, Jags, Raiders, Niners, Carolina, and the Seahawks are all on the downswing. We fall in the category of the upswing mediocre teams, the Vikings, Redskins, Lions, Cardinals, and Rams. That may not be saying much, but I feel like we have a bunch of ESPN analysts on this forum just throwing them under the bus because they're not elite, and our PR is **** and our FO makes stupid ****ing decisions at times, but be thankful that at least we don't have Al Davis as our owner. (We have a bunch of random *** people instead)

Don't get me wrong, I'm bitter as **** about our team not being among the best. It's frustrating and heart-wrenching. Year in and year out for the past few years we are just an afterthought. I remember when we were always in contention for the Division, and were always playoff bound. Even when we had Fiedler and Wanny. It's not what it is now, and it blows. Regardless, I love my team and bleed Aqua and Orange. I don't agree with what the FO does with every move (or even most moves), but I'm pretty sure they have the best intentions of getting us to a better place (i think).

Come on guys cheer the **** up! We have a top rated D, and some weapons at our disposal this year! **** the media, and their predictions! Let's let the year play out before saying we're the '07 Phins again. Enjoy the ride, and be patient. It's all cyclical in sports (as with everything in the universe, but that's off topic).

Nonsense.

There's no media bias against the Phins. It's just what you happen to notice because you're a fan of the team.

If we suck, we hear about it. If we're good, we hear about it. If we suck we don't get a lot of press. If we're winning we have to be discussed as we're then relevant to the playoff landscape.

Woe is me. Stop it.

Ummm, wrong. Thats the thing, when the dolphins play good be it one game or a span of games, the credit given to us by the national media never matches up to the credit given to teams like the jets, pats, steelers, etc.

Now i do in fact notice something about those teams i've listed above, they are contenders, but despite the fact that they are overall better teams, if we were to beat one of those teams what is it you here on espn nfl live? something along the lines of "whats wrong with the steelers?" or "Brady not looking 100% in loss to the dolphins".

See what im saying?

What we have to realize, and by "we" i mean us who believe in media bias against the dolphins, is that the dolphins are not the ONLY team who is treated this way in the media spotlight.

All in all, if you want to be talked about by the guys who think they know what they are talking about on tv, you have to win and win CONSISTANTLY, like the steelers, pats, jets, you get the point.

I couldn't care a less, i got my finheaven brothers to talk to about the only team i care about, the dolphins.

why we talkin about the Bills? Who cares, this is about Miami!! And the Fins have been a bottom feeder for a decade now.

On top of everything else I mentioned before, we draft Ted Ginn (a kick returner) at #9, we have a head coach that jumps around like a lunatic in excitement when we kick a field goal, our star player goes off to smoke dope and quits on the team, we bring him back only for him to fail another drug test.... and YET we have a fanbase that wants to keep bringing him back. We are/have been national joke! We could go on forever with examples. We are an endless source of laughs to people who don't care one way or another about the Fins. I find it funny when Fin fans laugh at the Raiders or Redskins and what they do with their "crazy" owners........fact is we are on their level and have been for about 10 years. People just don't want to admit it cause it's "our" team and it hits closer to home. But its a fact!!

The truth hurts sometimes folks. I'm a Fins Fan I hate to admit it, but until someone takes control of the ship and gets it going in the right direction, don't expect to see any "national respect" from anywhere. Why should they? RESPECT ISN'T GIVEN, ITS EARNED and Actions Speak louder than words!
