Oh it's the Northeast media, you sound like whiny west coasters whining about East Coast bias. The bottom line is the winning teams get the positive press, the Heat ha dunusualt circumstances a year ago w/ the decision and the celebration nonsense but once they win titles(and they will) you will see the media fawn all over them. The Dolphins haven't been a good team for most of the past decade, when they start winning again, when they start going to the playoffs annually again you will see positive press. heck you didn't even need that in '06 when SI picked you to go to the SB despite not playing in a playoff game in 5 years at that point. Please stop whining about the media, just go out and win games- that is all that matters.
I'm just being a biased fan for my team. I want the press to reflect my bias. As does every fan. There's no sugarcoating that the Phins haven't put themselves in good light. But, when you watch ESPN and hear the analysts there seems to be leaning towards bias for North East teams. It's natural because of the analysts they choose. The good part of the analysts played or went to college in the NE and the West. ESPN Boston, ESPN LA, ESPN Chicago. If you base a Sports Media outlet out of Miami, the North East would think that it's decently biased because their might be a higher number of analysts from Miami teams, and colleges.
The Jets (and OMG the Pats get their dicks sucked every night) get touted for everything they do. Do they deserve that? Sure, they go out and make moves that deserve some recognition, and they have a coach that puts them into the media any chance he gets. But Rex says that they will make the superbowl every year and that they expect it. They go far, but they don't make it, it gets brushed off quickly. Why? Because they're the early 90's Bills! Ha jk, it's because they are a good enough team to make the playoffs and win in the playoffs on tough road games. Herm Edwards is an analyst for ESPN. He loves the Jets, he loves everything they do.(I am exaggerating btw he rags on them when they deserve it).
That's what we have to hear constantly. Fans outside of the North East have to constantly hear about the Pats, and the Jets, and the Giants, and even the Bills because of Boomer (not always for good things). Hell we have to hear about the Phillies and the Yanks, and even the Mets completely sucking again (not as bad as the Marlins). It's just frustrating as Miami fans to have to watch a bunch of analysts who used to be part of those teams constantly blowing their former team up. It's also frustrating that when we do pick up a guy like Burnette to replace Crowder, all we hear about is how Crowder bashed the Phins organization, not about how they upgraded a needed position on a stacked D. The Jets and Pats pick up a few question marks, and they're the best thing since sliced bread.
But I digress, their are plenty of times that when analysts say to look out for the Dolphins. There are plenty of times when they do tout the Phins. We haven't done **** in the past, well forever to deserve high recognition. But as I've said in both the posts I've had on this topic, to prove the analysts wrong we have to win. Period. Hell we're known as the greatest comeback story ever with the 11-5 '08 Phins.
From a realistic standpoint we don't deserve credit for what we've done recently, and the things we have done are looked over because even though they are significant to us fans, they are not significant to other fans. But, from my standpoint, SHOW MORE DOLPHINS ON EVERY CHANNEL!!:hump:
