for making a tough call and pulling Fiedler after the 1st half. He made the right decision to start Feeley next week against Cincy. He might not have the talent on the roster right now to go 10-6, but give him credit for making the tough calls. And with Feeley on the rister, how good does Rick Spielman look now for trading away that 2nd pick?? Where would we be if he didn't??

Credit for what? He was a fool until he put Feeley in!

I hear that the offensive coaches all supported Feeley starting. Wanny had no choice but to make a change or otherwise eat raw crow on live....oops I mean taped delayed television.

you are friggin high buddy.

Wannstedt is a HORRIBLE COACH. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. There is more than enough evidence over the last 4 years to show this.

As far as I am concerned, Wannstedt and Fiedler discussions should never be brought up again via media, etc., ...these crap discussions have been going on for 4 years now with the same outcomes!

What if we didnt have Feeley??? All the Sage fans would be jumping outta there seats to find out he was the starter for Week 2! or not......

I honestly do not think he had a choice. As hard headed as Wanny is, I think he took some major heat for naming JF the starter, and this was a perfect opportunity to get people off his @ss. Again, we dont go out there and use a second round pick, and sign A.J to the contract we gave him to hold the clipboard on the sidelines.

I don't think that this issue is nearly as simple as praising DW for what happened. If the offensive coaches all thought that AJ should start week one, I agree that Dave should have listened to them. I also think that Jay and those who have said that Jay should have gotten a chance to start the 3rd quarter have a good point that the "hook" shouldn't come out nearly that quickly. If AJ plays a poor half next week or a couple of weeks down the road, I will be upset at Dave if he pulls him and puts Jay out there. That crap was killing the Bengals until Jon Kitna put a stop to it by telling their jackass coach to choose a guy and stay with him unless there was unacceptably poor play for weeks at a time. Somebody needs to make that point to DW.

It shouldn't be too hard to pull a guy who NObody but you (among the coaching staff) wanted to start and who threw 2 INTs and was 5 for 13 in the half. I'd give him a lot MORE credit had he started Feeley to begin with and given us a chance to win the damn game.

He's an BAFOON!!! if he would have named feeley the starter the week before, maybe with some practice we would have had a chance!!

After last season ended....

Didn't Hank Goldberg tell us all that the NUMBER ONE priority of the offseason for the FO was upgrading QB?

Didn't Huzienga say he expected a more dynamic, high scoring offense this year?

Didn't DW say he needed to be more aggressive on offense to get over the hump?

The questions this raises are:
- Was DW saying what we wanted to hear or did he believe it?
- If he believed it, why did 5 months "off" put him in the wuss mood again?
- If Huzienga wants scoring what is Dave thinking by being conservative?
- Is Trestman here to look the roster over for a year like Dave did?
- Does Rick have the power to fire Dave?

DW was only about 4 years too late! He is the weakest link, but we have a new QB now so let's see how he uses him, I'm guessing 'poorly'.

Wanny's Waffling

I agree that Feely should be the starter next week, but I'm no football genius and neither is Wanny:tongue2: . Wanny needs to listen to some of his offensive coaches. We need to open up the passing game and throw the ball down field especially now the Ricky is smoking dubage in Mumbai......or wherever that head case is. I hope Feely get's a fair shot and that Wanny sticks with him if he makes a few mistakes.:bandwagon Here's to the Feely bandwagon!:beerbang:

Some fair assessments here, but you have to admit that Ricky's retirement really threw things off. It will take some time, but we will get back on track.

Don't have to give Dave any credit. He's the reason were in this position. He has no choice but to start Feely. If he didn't he'd be fired before the season ended.
