You gotta give Wannstedt credit

Regardless of how Feeley does in the next few games Dave should leave him in. He gave Fiedler 4 years to try to be a real QB. If he pulls Feeley after only a game or two only to give Jay even more chances would defy all reason.

Some fair assessments here, but you have to admit that Ricky's retirement really threw things off. It will take some time, but we will get back on track.
I think the front office has dealt with the QB upgrade, Ricky retirement, Boston injury, and Ogunleye situation exceptionally. Spielman dealt with the situations and adjusted. In fact, I think the team has the talent to go 10 wins with good coaching.

I actually did not want DW to get fired after last season. Besides Green, who would have been an upgrade? The bigger question to me is one of coaching to win or coaching not to lose.

The coaching has failed the talent as often as the talent has failed the coaching. Penalties? Special Teams? Wierd 4th down decisions? QB situation? Wanting Fiedler back? Reactive defense? Run 1st, overly predictable offense?

for making a tough call and pulling Fiedler after the 1st half. He made the right decision to start Feeley next week against Cincy. He might not have the talent on the roster right now to go 10-6, but give him credit for making the tough calls. And with Feeley on the rister, how good does Rick Spielman look now for trading away that 2nd pick?? Where would we be if he didn't??

Credit!?? I'll tell you one thing if it wasn't for the house coming down with Boo's on Saturday Wanny might've kept Fiedler in till the 3rd INT...Thing is, he didn;t make the call becuz he wanted to, but becuz he HAD to.... His job is on the line.... and if he would've prepared Feeley to start instead of giving 80% of the practice snaps to Fiedler, we may have had a better chance to win...

He cant fool anyone... he had his mind made up at the QB decision from day 1 in training camp.

you are friggin high buddy.

Wannstedt is a HORRIBLE COACH. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. There is more than enough evidence over the last 4 years to show this.

As far as I am concerned, Wannstedt and Fiedler discussions should never be brought up again via media, etc., ...these crap discussions have been going on for 4 years now with the same outcomes!

hit it right on the nail! ;)

correction we have the talent on the roster to go 10-6 and thats why dave wanstedt is a bad coach. when you have the players and games arent getting won you have to question the teams leader, the head coach. the only good thing wanstedt has ever done for us was get ricky williams... and right about now ricky is probably smoking a bowl with lenny kravitz. the only credit i give dave is for his effort other then that hes a horrible coach and we need to get rid of him. You may say he made a good judgement call and took fiedler out... but if we had a good coach feeley would have started the game from the get-go.

We have a SuperBowl Defense and a 4-12 coach...it usually levels out to 9-7 and no playoffs.

Agreed. However, I am holding a solid opinion until I see if Wannstedt falls back to his Fiedler-loving ways. Fiedler was SO in shock, I don't think he could believe Dave unattached himself from JF for that moment in time!

I'd like to give him credit...

I'd like to give him credit in his retirement account somewhere far away from my beloved Dolphins in which he created the WORST era in our team's illustrious history...

The sooner and the farther this numb skull gets from our team the more credit I'll give him for leaving his nightmare in my past!

I want to thank the others who responded to this post with equally powerful scathing remarks to this ridiculous bunch of hooey...

Lots of other teams won this weekend with less talent and history and everything else that this team has...SO what are you talking about?

Amen Preda..

people have to be kidding me...give Dave credit???

for what??????????????????????????

They STINK. This love for Rick Spielman has got to go...
when A.J. Feeley takes us to the promised land...check back...
right now all he did is throw the interception that officially gave us no shot of coming back...

How clueless are some of the people here? :shakeno:

Ricky Williams leaving hurt Jay Fiedler the most. He is not a QB that can take a team on his shoulders and pass them to victory. He is a team player type of QB, just doing enough to run the offense and letting others around him do what they do; defense, chambers, mare, williams et al. Feeley is a guy that can do everything Jay does AND pass us to victory when we need it, and pass deep down field with crispness and precision. I agree Dave should have started Feeley from the get go, but Feeley is in there now so thank god Dave made that call early in the season.

As far as Wanny is concerned, this is the first time in Dolphin history that a coach is just that - a coach. Shula, Johnson both had personel power. We all know Dave was lousy at picking talent, now that job is gone and all he has to do is coach. This is the year that he either coaches his *** off, or quietly dissappears into the college ranks of forgotten coaches. So far (and it is early) he has shown that he can make the tough calls. I won't give him credit till I see more, but I will give him a raised eyebrow.

every year we hear this same old song just dont want to hear any of us crying next wee if feeley looks bad!!!!either were in for him or were not.enough is enough.go fins!!!!!!!!! I bleed aqua n orange

Thats the problem dave does have the talent to go 10-6 he just isnt using it the right way.

What if we didn't have Feeley? We'd probably have Kerry Collins or a proven QB. AJ might be the starter but he still hasn't done anything, this guy gets way too much credit for doing nothing. AJ may be the answer at qb in time and he should start this week but Dave is gonna have a quick hook with any qb. Lets remember this is a guy who didn't even start his SR season at Oregon, Giving up a 2nd rd pick for him was way too much. A 2nd rd pick would be useful in next years draft.

you guys love to give people credit around here. I have seen nothing like it before.

Credit for what? Screwing up the QB decision?????
