Excuses Excuses, Culpepper plays the worst passing defenses in the league, (hou, ten, pit) cant win a game, cant throw any td's. Harrington comes in, Mare misses a field goal, he throws for 400 yards and cant get the win in his next, beats the bears with 3 td passes (something noone has been able to do all season), and plays a great KC defense, plays more conservative in the second half but does his job and gets the win.

How can u guys be miami fans and not root for this guy? How can u call for his head after he just beat 2 of the top defenses this year, how can u not see he has turned this team around. Were gonna beat Minni, and we're gonna beat Detroit. I mean the more we win the worse you're gonna be on him? Noone is gonna be Marino, he comes once every 30 years. Get over it. I can't stand being on this board anymore. You guys are driving me insane with all this negativity towards Harrington. Start actin like real fans. :tantrum:

I keep askin myself the same questions man...don't understand it myself but to hell with em Go Phins!!!! :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

I don't like to take sides in this argument. I support both guys 110%. But there are people here who seem to simply HATE Joey Harrington, and it's pretty obvious. Either way, Joey was brought here to do a job, and he's doing his job...and that's backing up Culpepper. I agree with what Blueprint says about Harrington all the time... he's an decent starter, and a solid backup. I think Harrington can certainly get better in this league if he continues to work on it (and I think he's been better here than he was in Detroit already). But I hate when fans take sides on it.

i agree, they are saying he sucks when hes playing against Bears defense and Kc's defense and getting 2 wins? So what if he overthrows passes at times, you stand back there with those guys comin at you, ide bet ude be throwin too soon, and misjudging some passes too. He's done a hell of a job and deserves a pat on the back for what he's done, i can't beleive the things im reading on this board.

The defense gift wrapped the game for Joey and he still almost gave it away with his bad decisions.

He played decent vs KC but he didnt even throw a TD, and had the same stats as Damon Huard...let me stress that Damon Huard is a backup....exactly what Joey should be

Joey gave NE the game with turnovers. (All of their points, or at least enough to beat us came off turnovers)

Joey threw a INT returned for a TD against Green Bay (it barely tipped Randy's fingers but it was a terrible pass on and easy crossing route)

Joey didnt even come to play against the Jets until the fourth quarter even though he has the luxury of Ronnie Brown running wild

Im sorry but Joey has played awful 60% of the time and decent about 40% of the time.

So to answer your question, no the more we win we wont bash him more, the more he plays so poorly the more we will bash him.

It's funny how you have conveniently left out Joey's 9 int's and 66 QB rating.

I suggest you heed you own advice. Root for the team and not a player if your going to accuse other people of being poor fans.

We won both those games in spite of Joey not because of him. He had very good blocking and a good running game and still managed to keep the other team in it long enough to make the game closer than it should have been.

He is a very good backup...and thats all he will be

I'm behind him 100%, believe me when I tell you that. The name of the player, or my opinion coming into the season (you'll find with many posters here being RIGHT is more important than the fins winning and they will never let go of something they thought they were RIGHT on regardless of how many times it's been PROVED WRONG) mean nothing to me. If the Dolphins signed Doug Flutie tomorrow I would think it's a terrible move but if he led Miami on a 7 game winning streak I'd admit I was wrong and probably buy the jersey.

With all that being said I still feel Harrington needs to do a better job. I do think he's coming around. In the KC game he was calling lots of audibles and made no costly erros. Mentally I think Joey is very close to where we need our QB to be, even with only being in this offense for 1/2 a season or so. He needs to improve his accuracy on some throws (he tends to go high alot), work on the deep ball and moat importantly work on chemistry with the WR's. I really believe with slightly above average QB play this team will be tough to beat.

There's people here who hate Culpepper too, and it's pretty obvious. What isn't obvious is why. Why hate either of them. Neither has out shined the other. Plus they've only played a handful of games.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. There are a lot of guys here who crucify Joey no matter how well he does, but just as many who do the same to Daunte. See, that's why they're on this board, they're passionate. And they're going to be strong in favor of their guy or strong against the other guy. If you don't like it, might as well just leave. Every one posting here has the right to their opinion, disliking one player or another doesn't make them "bad fans", it makes them passionate! I am so sick of people calling good fans here as bad because they don't support this guy or that, a fan has every right to be passionate whichever way they choose, don't like it? Just LEAVE.

Know what I hate? People who call other people on FinHeaven bad fans. BaBye!

yea we won the chicago game in spite of him? You don't think the bears who cause 7 turnovers a game, couldve won with Culpepper or Lemon back there? Only 2 turnovers is a huge sucess against that defense and you act like its a horrible thing. That defense is brutal..and mentally kills qb's on top of physicaly. I see teams getting turnovers against the Bears every week, like the giants last week turning it over on chicagos 7 yard line, everyone ends up getting fg's. He threw for 3 td's when we got the turnovers. Who throws for 3 td's against the bears? he couldve had 4 if brown didnt make an awesome play. Nobody does good against the BEARS D! And i think he did a hell of a job under all that pressure all game. He's played well, not Marinolike or super, but well. This team has a different beat to it, and is playing much better every week he's back there. stop with the negativity.

Nice post! I agree, it's difficult around here in that you post anything to defend Harrington and you automatically get labeled a "Daunte hater" etc...it's gotten so bad I usually just avoid the arguments alltogethor these days...too much aggravation. As long as my Phins are winning that's all that matters, Go Phins!!! :dolphins:

Speak of the devil :sidelol: , Come on man, No QB this year has thrown 3 TD's against the Bears, at least be realistic with your criticism. 31-13 is not closer than it should have been

Matt Leinart did great against the Bears D. And no offense to them but the Bears havent played anyone very good this season.

Culpepper actually turned the ball over less actually if thats what your getting at by saying 'The Bears who cause 7 turnovers a game.'

Not to mention while he threw 3 TD and 2 INT it should have been 3 INT and 2 TD, He threw the ball to Tillman and Chambers somehow wrestled it out.

I see you neglected to comment on any of the other games I showed you he played terribly in.....because this is the only one he actually threw more TD than INT im pretty sure.
