42 million of cap with Julius Thomas and Albert off the roster.

assuming 7 for rookies, 5 for in season injury adjustments and 5 for rollover to next year that leaves about 25 million to realistically spend in FA

Remember cap hit isn't the avg per year

LG Ronald Leary 3 years 24million
RG Larry Warford 3 years 21million

Kiko Alonso tender 1 year 4million
extend Landry 5 years 55million
resign branch 3years 18million
resign sims 3 years 10 million

draft
rd1 zac Cunningham ILB
rd2 Ryan Anderson DE/OLB
rd3 Jordan Legget TE
rd5 Garrett Sickles DE
rd 5 des Lawrence CB
rd 5 Ben Boulware LB
rd 6 Bryan Cox Jr Edge
rd 7 Matt Milano LB

What would you do, who should you target, what would you change?!?

I want two top guards in free agency ...draft all defense except for one guard/center

I'm leaning more toward Leary and Patrick Omameh, a cheaper option than Warford, at guard and drafting Dorien Johnson. Lock Leary in at one guard spot and let Omameh and Johnson fight it out fore the other. I really like Leggett, but don't know if I could justify using a draft pick on him instead of a more pressing need. I'm not wild about Boulware and Milano... I think they're both just a step better than Hull. Boulware has a great motor but he's very limited other wise. Remember we won't have a 7th round pick, trading it for Thomas. It's hard to say which way to with the 3 5th round picks and the 6th with out seeing who's on the board, but I'm not sure the picks you have listed ae much better than what Miami as had or could add throug cheap free agents or undrafter guys.

Seeing that Miami may be leaning mostly toward de's, linebackers and maybe a corner in this draft, it's a good think those pools are fairly well stocked. While Miami could get a decent end or backer at 22, they could possible trade back to early in the 2nd round. By doing that they could still de and edge rusher, plus pick up another pick. Might miss out on a grade A- talent but get a B and B- instead.

Kind of doubt you will get Landry for a 11 mil a year if Stills is going to get 10 to 12.

With your proposed plans we literally sign zero depth players so we're basically going to continue giving guys like Paysinger defensive snaps - a receiver for sure disaster.

Good teams have solid depth players. We haven't had good depth players at really any position in a decade, maybe longer... and it's and its because we continue to try to sign only superstars.

Instead of signing $15mil for 2 guards you spend about $10mil for 2 guards that are solid, durable, and will play 98% of snaps... you use that additional $5mil to get 1-2 more solid depth players. You do this a few times throughout your roster and all the sudden you have solid starters AND solid depth.

You'd have to spend almost 20mil a year on two of the top guards in FA.

Zietler alone may be a pipe dream at 10 million a year.

We are going to pass on pass on Stills for 12 million/yr, pass on Donta Hightower for 11 million/yr, and then sign a guard at 10 million/yr? I don't see one happening, much less TWO top guards.

Don't worry, folks. Be confident in our coaching staff and FO. Didn't take Gase long to figure out Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner, and Jamil Douglas are garbage (unlike OL expert Philbin).

He'll find us two starting quality guards at WAYYY less than 20 million a year.

If you believe the article Armando wrote, and I tend to, were not spending big on a guard in FA.

You might want to throw a deep threat speed receiver into the mid/later rounds if Stills is gone. I don't know who, but someone.

If we learned one thing from last year is to protect TANNE

Get rid of the rest of the dead weight. Guys like Misi should be gone and that 42 million goes up a bit.

I'd be good with two top tier guards only if it still allows us to sign a LB like Zach Brown. We need to sign a sure contributing starting linebacker, because we only have one on the roster and likely won't find two in the draft. Our top two picks HAVE to be LB and DE, especially with the DE market already dry for free agency.

My preference, though, is to go after Hightower, re-sign Branch, sign a second tier guard, and another cheaper guard with potential like Womack. Then we go bargain bin hunting and I'd like to start there with Marquis Goodwin.

Then draft Reddick/Charlton/Harris at 22 and the BPA LB/edge in round 2 (Watt, Anderson, Walker, Willis)
