If anyone has ever clicked on the link in my signature you will realize that I run a rarely updated Dolphin's website. The site is an offshoot of my former website drivenbyboredom.com I never update eaither normaly. However DBB used to get a TON of hits, (2 Million page views in one day in July 03) and for some reason people care about my opinions on things. I decided to make a site dedicated to the dolphins, where fans of my site could read about the phins. The intention was never to make a site for real fans of the Dolphins, just one for fans of my web site who care about what im doing with my life. It sounds stupid, but then again most people are. So anyway, here is a preview of my next update. You probably know it all, but here are my opinions, let me know what you think.
This is just the offense... I'll post the defense later if anyone cares.

Quarterbacks: Probably the weakest part of our team. We have three third string quarterbacks and Brock Berlin who has no real business being in the NFL. The worst part is that Berlin is playing better than any of the other QB's. There are people out there who are actually suggesting he start a preseason game. These people are out of their minds. Anyway, between Feeley and Frerotte I would go with Feeley because he has a greater upside. If we were playing for a Super Bowl I would say that Frerotte should be playing. I think he would win us more games. That being said, we are rebuilding and if anyone is going to be the future QB of this team, it has to be AJ. Then again, they are probably both bums. And for the record, I love Sage, but I don't think he will ever be a starter in this league. I did get to see him throw his first touchdown in person last year.
Running backs/ Fullbacks: I have no idea what Ronnie is capable of after only a few days of camp. He wasn't my pick out of college but truthfully I am pretty happy with him. Man can he catch the ball. It is a thing of beauty. Then there is Ricky. I have to tell you, that when he retired I was devastated, but I can't say I ever hated him and I can't say I am going to be happy rooting for him. He has looked great in camp and had an amazing 6 carries against Jacksonville, but I couldn't possibly say if he will be as effective as he was. I love the idea of having a two back rotation. Have Ricky in to block and run short yardage, have Ronnie in to catch and run run run. Ricky will get less broken down and Ronnie will have a good acclimation into the team. I am excited. I'd love to see them play together for a few years. As far as the other guys go, Sammie Morris will make it, I am not sure about the rest. And the Fullbacks Evans and Martin should both make the team and probably play mostly H Back.
Wide Receivers/ Tight Ends: I don't think I have to say anything about Chambers. The guy is a beast and is making unheard of catches. Marty Booker is still very young and has been a pro bowl receiver. I think he is going to be great under the new offensive system. He is our pretty clear number two receiver. Coming in third is pretty close between Boston and Thompson. Boston has had some problems coming back from injury. I think healthy he has more potential than Booker, but he is anything but healthy. He has looked good so far and I think we can hope for the best. DT is a great practice player and had a good end to last year. Hopefully he can show some of that during the regular season. I have heard rumors of him getting cut, but I don't think that could happen. Welker has been practicing a lot of out in the flat patterns designed to get him the ball on the run. He looks great in open field. We probably wont use him much more than a return man, but he is pretty special when he gets the ball in his hands. Gilmore and Newsom are battling for probably one more roster spot. The real question is if Mann is worthy enough prospect to keep around. He is third string, but he has played great in preseason and the games against third string players. I think this may be a practice squad type of guy. Then there is the tight ends. I don't think I need to talk about Randy. You know about Randy. But there is a battle between the much hated, stone handed Donald Lee and a player no one has ever heard of named Lorenzo Diamond. Diamond has impressed so far and is looking to take Lee's spot. Diamond would make a great H Back too. I think he will make the cut.
Offensive Line: Here is my dream line up for the Dolphins. Vernon Carey, Jeno James, Rex Hadnot, John St. Clair, Stockar McDugal. Unfortunately as it is now, Hadnot is playing guard and Seth McKinney is playing center. I don't think very highly of McKinney and I am almost longing for the days of Tim Ruddy. This line was the Phins weakest link last year, but they have showed great improvement thanks to a few pick ups and a great new coach in Hudson Houck. Here is the breakdown. Evidently Carey has looked amazing. He is playing against JT everyday and really holding his own. Jeno James was by far our best lineman last year and although he has struggled in camp a bit, I think he will look tough come week one. Rex Hadnot is probably our best draft pick last year. He has looked great and has been playing guard and center. He has nothing but upside. Also, when I saw him in person last year, he was about the biggest man I have ever seen. He is a beast. Stockar has been looking good so far, he could be the best lineman we have. He is a great pick up. I think the only linemen worth talking about are Frank Middleton and D-Mac. D-Mac has a lot of potential, if he is really healed from his injury he will make a great back up and both tackles. Middleton is third string at the moment, but he is a veteran and played on the Raiders' Super Bowl team. I hope he can get it together I would like to see him play guard if Hadnot moves to center. That would be hot.
