Sorry for another Ted Ginn thread, first of all.

But you guys need to make up your damn minds on him. And majority of the other players on the roster.

Last week he had a good game, everyone said "Now he's starting to look like that #9 pick"

This week has doesn't perform well he is called a bust.

I guarantee if he does good next week people will call him good again, and so on and so forth. It's honestly one of the most annoying things. And if any one of you that are flip-flopping your opinion denies it, you are just lying to yourself.

____________

But now, I think one of the reasons Ginn can't emerge is because every team knows to cover him. I think like someone said in a different thread, if we got Roy Williams, it would make defenses think who to cover and it would allow Ginn to get open ALOT more.

And finally, (it's obvious) but just put Ginn back to returning already! He has damn good at it in college, good at it last year, so why judge him off the couple that he's had this year. It's just not fair, Ginn is a chance to take it to the house or give us good field position everytime, who cares if Bess can make the first person miss when he only gets to the 25?

He had an ok game last week...but he's not really consistent at all. If he was a big time receiver he wouldnt disappear week to week like he does. If he's not getting on the field, that means the coaching staff doesnt think he belongs on there every down.

I'm not calling him a bust yet at all. I hated when Ronnie was called a bust after 2 years though you could see the talent he has. Ginn is a little different because we're not seeing that much from him. The one thing I thought we had is a guy with pure speed....and we havent been able to see that much.

Well, he certainly has been inconsistent. But once again, this is a young team and he does need to develop. I was wondering this though: Why not have him return kicks? We know from last year that he has the ability to go all the way. I don't have that sense with Bess. Having said that, why not give Bess a shot at Ginn's WR slot and put Ginn in the return game. Maybe then Ginn can work in the slot, etc. Just a thought.

He's not worth this - he's got little skill and zero heart. Draft or trade for somebody who wants to win.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, and if next week he does well, everyone will be saying exactly the opposite.

He's been in the NFL for 1.25 years, do you expect him to be Reggie Wayne already? Does he have to be consistent already? No. It would be nice, but he hasn't even had 2 full years in the NFL. Get off his case.

If he does good or not...he will never be worth a #9 pick.:shakeno:

if he does good or not...makes sense...if he happened to do "good enough" to make it to some pro-bowls or perhaps lets even get crazy and say made it to the HOF ... i think that would qualify as good.....and not sure what your expectations are of the number NINE overall pick....but i think that would also qualify as worth the #9 pick.....not sure tho....

Sorry, dude. After seeing him avoid contact at the expense of his team last week, he's got a lot to prove in my eyes. Just to be clear, I'm one of those (apparently rare) people who was not happy with him after San Diego.

And this criticism on his will to win is coming from a guy who still puts Ricky Williams on a pedestal.

my thing with sprano and not letting ginn return kicks is a joke. at the end of the game when we hadddd to score pretty much on the kickoff who did we have back there. ted ginn. we all knew they were gonna squib kick it, but in the event that they did kick it deep sprano knew ginn had the best chance to take it to the house. if he knows this how come he doesnt let him return kicks full time. ginn = can take to house on a return, not so much bess. i see sprano costing us 3 return tds this year by having bess in. who cares about the one he might let bounce and lose us 5 yards here and there

But don't you think he deserves more chances to prove himself improved on that? After gettting so much heat from shying the from contact, I would think he would try to better himself.

And about Ricky on a pedestal, well I'm with you on that lol. I love the guy.

I guess it comes down to his size. A guy as small as Ginn would get torn to pieces if he finished every play the way MB3 does - driving with his shoulder down. The problem is that Ginn also lacks the ability to avoid tackles until he's built up some speed.

So what does that leave us with? An admittedly fantastic pair of hands attached to a guy who never seems to get open.

He's a deep threat - not a slot guy. Get him the ball in a place where he doesn't have to bust through anybody and he's golden. Of course, this makes him something of a mismatch with Pennington.

As far as I'm concerned, he's good for a few things only:

- Punt/Kick return
- long streaks, where speed takes technique out of the equation
- slants, where he doesn't have to take head-on hits

But since this team is either unwilling or unable to use him for any of those three things, he'll languish as long as he's here.

I'd love to see him succeed, and I think he can. I Just don't think it'll happen here.

you know whats also funny?? the fact that NE is getting destroyed and will never be the same team again!!! cheeers to us turning it around and the afc east flipped upside down!! what happens when farve retires at the end of the year?? kellen clemens!? LOL.. go ted and go mia!!! ted will get it i do think they should use him in the ST game tho.. its fine if we get destroyed by other teams ST's but atleast let us put up a fight from that aspect!!!
