The former Notre Dame WR Jeff Samardjilla ... forgive me if I misspelled his name. That guy is big, elastic, adjusts his routes very well, and has velcro hands. What a great option in the red zone for a non-elite QB.

Last I heard he was trying professional baseball. Anybody have an update on how that's going? Is there any chance he'd give it up to join us at some point? I'd sure like to have him in Parcells system or Henning's system, or whichever variation of the two we run.

Jeff Samardzija is doing pretty well in baseball as a member of the Chicago Cubs farm system. He'll start out this season in AA ball and if he gains better control of his pitches, he could be in AAA by August and maybe one of the pitchers they call up when the roster expands in September.
