You Know Your Ol Is Bad When You.....

Click on this thread only to realize it’s useless like so many

I mean you clicked on it knowing it was going to be a joke of some sort.

Did you get your hopes up thinking we signed someone?

Pay more attention to the NFL and you will understand what following football in February looks like.

If Miami gets a QB that has good footwork, senses pressure, knows how to navigate in the pocket, has a quick release and is willing to throw the ball away instead of taking the sack, is able to move out of the pocket to avoid pressure then Dolphin fans will be amazed how the OL has gotten so much better.

Not only is the good OL a QB's best friend a good QB is an OL's best friend. Miami has had neither and that's when it is a disaster.

We need to get this right once and for all, or QBs will drafted in, and in a few years will carried out...repeat and rinse.

That’s a pretty long list. Not sure you will find many QB’s that have all the aforementioned skills. Even if you do, if your solution for fixing a bad OL is to simply scramble out from behind it, you will have some short-term success, but it won’t be long before opposing defenses take away the rollouts and make you one dimensional.

^fact. Our five big fellows up front have to consistently win their individual battles for the things Adam mentioned to have great value.

Great thread, thank you for your service

You know your OL is bad when they are partly responsible for giving up 301 sacks since 2012 and then you realize Marino was sacked 270 time in 17 years.

RW, KS baby. Marino had not only a very, very quick release, but also an innate ability to slide in the pocket to evade the rush.

I swear, sometimes he had eyes in the back of his head.

IIRC even in his season when he started 10 or 11 games Marino was only sacked like 7 times.

The release had something to do with that but that was mostly innate ability. Dan wasn’t perfect, just better then everyone else.

Sports, like life, aren’t fair.

We all know what Dan would do in this modern league. Unstoppable would be redefined.
