I have a question for everybody concerning our team and the future. Like every year, I start out hoping and believing we can win it all. On the other hand, I realized that with a new coach, new roster, new scheme, new everything, that that would be very hard to do. My real hope this year was to have a team that down the stretch, didn't fade but was better than it was in the beginning. We have a chance to accomplish this because I believe we'll finish 8-8 at the very least.
Suppose we finish on a very positive note with a 9-7 record. With a good draft, signing a few key players in FA, and the return of other injured players (Poole, Mitchell, Vickerson, etc.), we may be in a good position to battle for not only the playoffs but possibly the division title or more.
Here's my question: Which one of the following options is the best way to address the QB position?
#1. Bring back Frerotte and draft a top QB who will spend one year on the bench and take over in 2007.
#2. Allow Lemon and Rosenfels to battle it out for the job and then sign a cheaper QB to hold the clipboard.
#3 Sign or trade for a veteran QB who will start. The veteran must be better than Frerotte.
#4 Draft a QB and throw him in there from the beginning of the season even though he's going to take his share of lumps.
