This is just an explanation for digging up alot of old threads tonight. I hope you all can look at these threads and the frustration that went along with them. Do you feel that way now?? Do you feel like the Dolphins are a ship sinking?? Do you feel that this year was worthless because there is no playoffs?? I just wanted to show that this board after 3 straight wins is a hell of alot more sane than after three straight losses. Do the negative people not post when we win??

I see your point. But a lot of times what people post on here stems from emotion, not logic, and even when people are trying to be logical, emotions will have an effect on one's thought processes. By the way, we could still lose our last three games, so the fat lady hasn't sung yet, despite what some may think. I still predict, as I did in the beginning of the year, that we will go 8-8.
 
Playoffs arnt out of reach yet. And I wont abandon my playoff dream until it is totally gone

its funny to look back and see the emotional swings on this board...and it shows the type of team the fins have been

i dont think this should be a calling out for those who were upset, though. not anymore than than browbeating people who think that the 2% chance we will make the playoffs means we are in.

it would make for a rather boring forum if after the cleveland loss all you saw were posts whose only content contained, "process" and "patience." or on the other hand after the buffalo game everybody made it a point to bring everyone back down to earth

this is a place to vent and celebrate; and analyze when those emotions pass. when the emotions pass, those threads follow suit

i love this forum for all the ups and downs that reflect how nearly everyone is actually feeling, rather than a place where everyone tries to be a restrained and detached observer.

Some people just handle adversity better then others. I get real upset at all the doom and gloom and hate threads that seem permeate through all the sane, logical threads. The problem is this site is no different then ahy other site with a team that is struggling. The depressing,whining, crying posts just make things worse IMO.
 
This board is no more or less sane now than it is after losses. It's not a matter of sanity -- it's a matter of this board rightfully serving as a place for people to blow off steam.

How many threads do you see right now that consist of suck or bust in the title that weren't ones I dug up from the losses? No problem here about blowing off steam, just thought if I dug up some outrageous stuff and put it side by side to current stuff, it might give pause.
 
If your point is that people aren't considerate enough to keep the blowing off steam in a couple of threads after losses, I absolutely agree with you. I just don't think it's a matter of sanity.

I made this reply in an old thread but ill put it here too, the people who wrote saban was a joke or ronnie is a bust were just shortsighted. People sometimes get too emotional. If you cant see that this team is playing better now more than ever is blind. Loss to cleveland was horrible, lots to jets was pitiful, and the 21-0 1st quarter by loserman was embarrassing. When people see that they dont figure its the first year of a coach. They dont know that if we got rid of shula after his first season we would always have been looking for coaches. Or LT would be playing in the CFL now if we went off his first 2 weeks.

No need to bash the shortsighted ones and remind us of how some fans reacted to early pains. Just sit back and support this team no matter if we are 0-6 or 6-0.

And yes winning just brings the optomistic insane people out. Like last year at 1-6 were saying we would run the table. It happens. Everyone has their opinion, the whole glass half empty or full thing.
