I get into this debate quite a bit and hear all of the running game and defense wins championships rhetoeric from the media. Sure you must have a defense and be able to run the ball but, i have also
listed the last 25 Super Bowl Winning Qb's that say a lot more. How many of those qb's were game managers. Dilfer, Johsnon, Manning(last year), and no i'm not including Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco as game managers because they stepped up as stars during they're Super Bowl winning playoff runs. Now ask yourself this question do you see Tannyhill playing at the level that these qb's played at in challanging for a title. We have a few isolated teams winning a Super Bowl over 25 yrs and now we think all you need to do is throw for 200 yrds, don't turn the ball over and throw a couple of td's and you can win with that type of qb's. The numbers don't say so. You need a qb capable of lighting it up, if the defense falters a little or the running game is getting stuffed
by eight man fronts. For every 2001 Bucs, 2000 Ravens, Seahawks or Bronco game managing Qb Super Bowl winning team I can show you some great 90's KC, Early 2000 Dolphins,
Rex Ryan Jets, mid 90's Seau led Charger etc teams that never one a Super Bowl because they didn't have that big time QB.
