Hey guys. My friends are finalists as Miami Dolphin cheerleaders this year! I can't believe they made it.
Their names are Mami and Miwa - both girls are very close friends with my fiance who is from Tokyo, Japan. They work with her sister who is a "Tokyo Girl," or professional Japanese cheerleader. I've had the opportunity of meeting them several times and they're very sweet girls who have dreamed of this their whole life.
As you can imagine - being from Japan - they have had an uphill battle their whole life for this - as professional opportunities for them in cheerleading are very limited...but now they FINALLY have their chance! It just so happens to be OUR TEAM! I'm really happy for them and would love to personally know a cheerleader on our squad! I think its safe to say...that many Americans have personal biases, e.g. big busted, blondes, etc....so these girls are naturally at a small disadvantage.
