I am a Fin Fan and an MSU fan and you cannot say his name around East Lansing without having to duck...Saban's antics (i.e. not meeting face to face with his coaches) are typical of a guy who walked out on his team right before their first major bowl for more money...

And after he abandoned MSU he trashed the school by saying they could never compete on level ground with U of M...Not only did it hurt the school with his statement, he made his accusations to justify his early sub par performance at the school...

You'd think after bailing so many times in poor taste he'd learn from his actions...

If you look at the type of person Saban is, look at how loyal some of his old coaches have been to him...Notice how few of them jump at the chance to work with him again...

examples: Mark D'Antonio current MSU coach refused to part with Saban to LSU, when he initally left and one year later...Todd Grantham who turned down Saban TWICE to act as Defensive Coordinator for the Dolphins...Will Muschamp who would much rather be the defensive coordinator at Auburn than be spurned (no title???) by Saban in the NFL...

Im sure the list goes on and on of former coaches that dislike Saban...add to the list if you can think of any...

see thats the thing with saban...hes always trying to position himself to get better...he saw a frustrating scenario in miami and bailed...

he took msu to 9 wins (actually 10 if you count bobby williams win over florida) and used it to leverage a better deal because he saw a challenge at msu and was fearful he would not be able to duplicate it...

he won a national championship and parlayed it into a $5 million dollar deal in the nfl...

yes, a great coach is often one of circumstance...ex: urban meyer picked florida over notre dame et all because florida, not the school, offered him the most in terms of recruiting, schedule, academics...

but saban is always parlaying for the bigger deal, trying to bury his faults...if saban had stuck at msu a few more years, the lopsided in-state battle would have been dissolved...hell, MSU has just as a historic football past as any school....

and what cracks me up about the alabama fiasco is that saban longed for the college game and a return to an area that had similar lifestyle to his midwestern roots...in short, searching for a place a lot like MSU, a job he spurned a long time ago...

As an MSU fan, I have always been weary of Saban...In fact if you look it up, I always say how when he was at MSU, Saban was always jealous of the popularity of Tom Izzo...Ive always been skeptical of that guy...In fact, a great deal of his fall out at MSU stemmed from his desire to be paid more out of his desire to be appreciated as much as the beloved basketball coach...

How much of this stuff was being reported?? Everything I'm reading here the last few days about Saban, is news to me. I had no idea he was hated so much, by the the entire organization.
