Something that just dawned on me, kind of an, "oh duh" moment, everyone calling the wild-cat trickery is really fairly thick. In reality the cat is the least amount of trickery you can have on the field, the high end odds of a wild cat play is a run, when the qb is in the best you've got a 50-50 run/pass. so really how much trickery is it? figure out how to stop dominant run blocking and you can damage the wild-cat.

now on the flipside how many fake punts did the dolphins run monday night? (jests ran two)how many times did the dolphins run a vastly different package than any we've shown before (the jests ran the "seminole").

so really who was playen with slapdash highschool trickery?

I agree. Its not trickery its actually the most simple offense when it is broken down. The only trickery about it would be Ricky coming in motion. Football is a game of trickery every game is there not a play action pass? Do LB's not come up to the line of scrimmage and fake a blitz?
BTW Cobbs blocked great and offered a lot out of the wildcat how much is that going to be missed?

How can the garbage jets call it a gimmick when they tried a wildcat play with Leon Washington and it was stuffed for a loss!! If it had worked for a twenty yard gain they would have "gimmicked" us allnight!!

I'm telling ya the next jet fan i hear complain about gimmick/trick offense im going to give an ear full...

losing cobbs might hurt, he was a very versatile player, as far as blocking goes, i think it depends on how well hilliard can block, and how quickly he can pick-up the new responsibilities, as far as recovering from everything cobbs could do for us: catching, blocking, returning, shifty runs, I think sheets has the goods, but he will need some time to catch up.

Wildcat is about as tricky as a play-action pass.

Smash mouth football, the Jest's just forgot about the smash mouth part.

Very true, the Jets played soft and they are trying to find excuses for their soft played. Miami's Wildcat formation is simple. Line up, hit the guy across from you, and provide lanes for Ronnie and Ricky to choose from. Don't even have to worry about the pass 98% of the time.
