You Want National Respect? You Got It!

I live in NYC and just decided to check out if any Week 4 NFL TV listings had been posted. The TV rules for NYC prohibit any game to be televised opposite any Jets or Giants home game. To my bewilderment, BOTH the Jets and Giants Week 4 games have been flexed to accommodate the Dolphins@Patriots game at 1:00pm!

The Jets@Jaguars 1:00pm game has been flexed to a FOX broadcast despite the all-AFC matchup. And since the Jets are the road team, CBS is allowed to show the Dolphins@Patriots game at 1:00pm opposite the Jets game. Not only that, but the Saints@Giants game has been flexed to be the late 4:25pm CBS double-header game despite the all-NFC matchup!

Clearly, the Man upstairs has preordained a Dolphins victory over the Raiders this weekend in order to justify the excessive schedule modifications to warrant the Dolphins@Patriots as a national Week 4 early game. Hmm... perhaps the Man upstairs is forecasting an epic Dolphins win at the Patriots, and hence the official changing of the guard in the battle for AFC East supremacy.
 
Simple equation. Winning = viability.

We go 3 and OH yea baby -- then beat the Cheats (!) you BET we'll get all the recognition you can handle!

But hey. It's 1 week at a time and duh raiders are the only team that matters right now.

But still...

We're 2 and oh fellin' groovy baby!

It actually makes the viewing experience more enjoyable because I don't set myself up for a let down. 2 decades of Dolphins football has conditioned me so that I can spot the trends now. The Dolphins will very likely be 3-0 going into NE, and if you get caught up in the hype just to become despondent after watching them get dismantled by BB and Brady, that's on you. I'll just enjoy the game for what it is and move on to the next.
