Run the ball 45+ times. Give Ronnie 30 touches and sprinkle in about 15-20 Ricky/Cobbs touches and we will easily win. The Dolphins are near the top of the league in rushing after two weeks and the Chargers are ailing on defense allowing almost 4.5 yards per carry with their stud NT Williams out. Someone tell Sparano passing this week is not necessary but should be used like a change of pace.

This week is simple, we run the rock and we win.

I think that was the game plan last week too and we know how that went. If teams were smart, they would stack 8 in the box all day and dare penny and the wideouts to show something...

Anyway, the ONLY way we beat SD this week is to get constant pressure on rivers and chip gates all day long and have our corners jam their wideouts at the line. Disrupt the timing of Rivers and get some sacks and try to let them beat us with sproles. Additionally, we need to play ball control offense and not allow rivers and the SD to have many opportunities.

That is the ONLY way IMO we are going to win.

Just like last week huh ?
This week we're not facing the Colts. Phillip Rivers plays in an air coryele offense Peyton Manning is an offense by himself. We beat the Chargers last year when they were way healthier. We'll see what happens.

Running the ball will be key. But the real key to the game will be containing Antonio Gates. With how Gonzo and Dallas Clark victimized us the last two weeks, we need to take away the middle of the field. Oh yeah, and make tackles.

Last year Gates was playing with an injury when they played us.. He is 100% healthy this year and looks so much quicker on the field... And in the game last year Sproles wasn't the focal point in their offense that he is now, they had LT Playing against us and he was playing injured as well as Gates.. Plus Vincent Jackson wasn't the threat that he is this year. His game has improved 3 notches.

And I'm not even including Chambers and that other 6 foot 5 receiver Malcolm Floyd who caught a 45 yard TD last week.

Pick your poison.

The Dolphins will probably run the ball a lot. But if they settle for field goals again they will lose. They better score a lot of points against that potent San Diego offense... Miami's pass defense has looked atrocious since pre season.. They even made Byron Leftwich look like a star throwing to backups against our starting defense.

Philip Rivers is a douche. He's like a 6 year old boy at recess. Can't stand him.

The formula is to pick the Dolphins to lose. Every time I picked them to win last year they lost, and won when I picked them to lose. So.. someone start a score prediction thread and get to work.

And put linebackers in zone or something. Lord knows Gates and Sproles are going to burn them manned up.

I'm sure that Gates and Sproles got on a lot of people's fantasy teams this week after they witnessed that collapse Monday night.

And SD is a terrific screen team, who utilize the screen extremely well with Sproles in particular, but use others as well.. And Miami stinks at defending screens.

I would love a win. But I am not too optimistic. Crazier things have happened though... Any given Sunday and all that.

Very true. We need to run the ball down their throat.

I posted a thread before the season stating the things I thought we needed to accel at in order to be successful.

1. Run the ball effectively.
2. Stop the run consistentley.
3. Don't turn the ball over.
4. Create turnovers and keep the game in the O's hands.

Number 4 is more of a reference to not have to rely on Pennington to win games in the fourth quarter.

It helps if Penny plays with a lead most of the game. The reason we win 11 games last year is because he took shot and relied on his WRs. This year he is playing cautious. If he wants to keep his job the entire year, he needs to hit our OPEN WRs. That is right! Our WRs are getting open for once. He needs to trust his arm.

Also, how awesome would it be if we could lead the league in rushing? We have some great talent in the rushing game.
