I dont see why you guys want to cut channing crowder he is a good 3-4 lb couldn't see him doin much in a 4-3 but if we get laurantis we have a good back up in ayodele also we don't need to address safety in the first 4 rounds. if you see most sucesful safetys ed reed and polumalu all have great d lines you could even say landry so safetys need a good line i c us getting lbs and linemen in the first few rounds than filling in the gaps thats just what i see and i think we keep holiday to help mentor the rooks for a few years after all him and fergie are the only veteran d linemen on our team we would be screwed with a bunch of 1 and 2 year guys calling all the shots IMO

Nobody said to cut him, he's a Free Agent now.

Crowder is decent but not great. I would imagine the Fins will make him a very average offer, and some other team will make him a better offer. Very good chance he'll be gone.

I only want to get rid of a player IF we have an upgrade player. Crowder included.

Crowder might test the free agent waters, I personally think some team will over pay for his services and he will not be back next season. Just like the Texans did with Morlon Greenwood.

I think Crowder is an avg LB and is probably a better OLB than ILB because he isn't disciplined enough.

Safety is a VERY important position and we have ONE that is worth keeping. We NEED a free safety badly. Youdon't wait until the 5th rd to get a starting safety so unless you find one in FA we need to draft one early. As for DL - you can bet that BP and Ireland will draft BIG DL early and often. That is what they do - build their lines with youth. Holliday and Fergie will be around only until they get enough depth and youth to push them out which will be another year at least.

Actually people keep acting like Greenwood has been a bust for Houston but I guess they really have not paid attention. He had 4 straight 100 tackle seasons and three of them for the Texans. This was his first bad season for them and he was injured much of it. He got a 5 yr 22.5 million dollar contract. Thats slightly more than we paid randy Starks who is a parttime player for us. Next year his salary is almost 5 million and his signing bonus was basically the same as Ernest Wilford's. His contract is lower than Vonnie Holiday's and he makes slightly more than Jason Allen. So im not so sure he is overpaid.

Now todd Wade was a bust signing and they clearly overpaid but I dont agree they overpaid greenwood who has produced.

I admit, I did not pay attention to Greenwood's stats like you did. At the level they paid, he's given them good service.

I still wonder what happened to Wade. He was Goganesque, but, seemed to lose alot of his wind when he got injured.

I was a big Wade fan here. He had a horrid last season here but so did everybody on that line. If the guy beside u sucks , it usually affects your play. I dont blame us for not matching that offer though. Still shocked how badly he fell off. Like many of our rookies , thier rookie season seems to be thier peak and then they fall off. I hope that trend does not continue.

I think that's squared away@Rookies I think you need to get indoctinated in the proper way to get your mind right....Our staff now is doing that.

The one run where smith ruined the guy from the Lions was a great block from Wade that sprung it. I, like you was a HUGE Wade fan. Houston overpaid. I don't blame our people for letting him go, and, I don't blame Todd for takeing that deal. You've got to take that deal.

I think his issues were mental. You don't go from beign a nasty, attitude driven ORT to FA garbage that quickly without issues.

with channing being a UFA.... we won't get any compensation for another team signing him, but I guarantee you we can find another linebacker who can tackle.

that seems to be crowders only strong suit, and tackling is something most in the nfl can do. we don't need to overpay a guy to go out there and do something as fundamental as tackle the ball carrier.

I've already grown tired of the guy making no impact plays to speak of... he should demand no less than a top 20 ILB contract term, anything higher than that, and I am sure the FO people will let him go.
