I recall Omar saying that most of the times the beat writers need to create smokescreens and I highly doubt this isn't one For the LA times

why would a beat writer need to create a smokescreen? I looked back 2 years ago and he had Miami taking Tannehill(not that this means anything), last year it was hard to pick b/c of the trade.

this would be a pretty Meh year to reach for a QB, especially for camp competition purposes.
The only big-name QB I would actively draft (not with the Fins in mind) is Manziel or Bridgewater, and likely only if they were in the 2nd rd. I like Bortles (I'm a UCF alum) but I don't think he has enough big-game experience against strong opponents (really just a handful of games), and he's usually not flawless, he gets a little sloppy here and there after a few good drives -- aka, he needs work. He's definitely got the prototypical size, but that can only take you so far.
There are wayyyy too many other positions of need on this team. Tannehill may not be the end-all-be-all answer, but he's definitely not a liability yet - he still can prove his worth under Lazor's offense now that he's out of Sherman's shadow.

Offensive line woes aside, I haven't seen anything from Tanny that has me convinced he's a bonafide top 10 QB. Until he does show that, if there's a guy i think will become a top 10 QB in the NFL i'd take him everytime. I'm not knocking Tanny, He's shown flashes but nothing consistent so right now we're not sure if he's THE GUY, and you can't pass on guy's you think might be THE GUY until you've found THE GUY.
