I know most of us consider Bill Simmons to be a major pats homer (and he is), but he makes some good points here in why it might be better to hire a young up and comer over an older guy whos been trodding about the league for years.

Now, I havent done a breakdown of our candidates by age, but I find it interesting that we have apparently taken great interest in some younger guys, such as Tomlin and Schotty and Wisenhunt and Rivera.

What do you guys think? How much importance should we be placing on age? And, for that matter, health? I mean, didnt Martz have heart problems? Should that be a factor at all?

Just some points for discussion :)

Youth would probably be best, but as long as they are good is the most important thing.

I don't care either way....I just want someone who will be here for a while, be straight up and not lie to us....and JUST WIN baby.

Exactly, i dont really care as long as we win, but my preferance would be Ron Rivera the DC from Chicago.

some grumpy gus was saying that these young coordinators didn't stand a chance, despite all the contrary empirical evidence
