Linebackers/DEs Mark Washington, Q. Moses, Abe Wright, Rob Ninkovich, Rod Wright, D. Robinson, and even M. Roth have some measure of talent. Washington and Roth could even be shifted to the inside LB spot with some good teaching. I would not under-estimate the development of these guys, nor would I count out Solai on the DL. He might actually make a decent DE in the 3-4. I would not under-estimate their value at all.

I like your thought of Roth at ILB. It might not make sense, but he seems like an odd man out at DE or OLB, so maybe something like this could work.

Also, I think Soliai is still a future NT. When we drafted him, the belief was that he was big and talented but raw. I expect him to become a good player...all 344 pounds of him.

Moses and R. Wright have the best chances to succeed. Moses will probably take a season or two to convert to an OLB but he does have the rushing ability to do it but does he have the skill to stand up and do it. I think Wright is a perfect 3-4 End and should do well this year in the rotation. I'm not sure about Roth. He certainly has some skill or he wouldn't be on the team anymore. Hopefully he returns to our top rotation of backup DE.

Its gonna be real interesting to see what our FO and coaching staff do with Matt Roth.

Maybe a new breed of inside linebacker...idk right now

Wright may be a linebacker but he is no perfect 3-4 DE!

I think I would say that about Abe Wright, but Rod Wright

Wright may be a linebacker but he is no perfect 3-4 DE!

would fit the description of a big DE in a 3-4. He is about 6-5 and weights close to 300 (maybe 290). Abe Wright is at about 6-3, 250 and he would be most suitable for OLB.

Ninkovich was very highly thought of by the Saints..

before Miami signed him off their practice squad. Saints management and fans were not happy about that. He was injured when we signed him and Dolphin coaches never activated him to my knowledge. He may have spent all last season recovering. He would meet Bill's description as a big OLB. He and Washington would be my sleepers of the group.

If he is talking about Rod Wright then I would disagree to some degree.

He's talking about Rodrique Wright, not Abraham Wright.

He wouldn't be too small to play DE. Maybe he would be too big. But he played there alot last year even though he is listed as a DT. I think he fits Bill's scheme there.

Rod Wright has a very good chance of being a starter. Abraham Wright and Quentin Moses.... these are two guys to look at, as well as Ninkovich.

i actually hope that holliday and wright are our starters at DE next year. those smaller DE's worry me though - guys like moses, ninkovich, etc.. i was gonna post something like this a few weeks ago b/c i really don't know what is to become of those guys. i hope we can convert guys like moses and ninkovich to OLB's but roth i just don't know. i think his best shot would be to switch to an ILB in our 3-4 - but he has a much better chance of success to go to a team with a 4-3 and play DE. i just wish he had a better year last year so we could get something for him. don't see him in a dolphins uni next year, which is too bad b/c i had high hopes.

I have seen the guy from the Saints and he could help on special teams. I just happen to think that Roth may not fit on this team anymore but I guess we will have to wait and see.
