OK, I've seen similar threads where you could pick any trades you want, no matted how crazy, but this is a little different. For this mock you are picking for all of our picks but the catch is there can be NO trade scenerios, and you have to pick from the people that would realistically be aailable at those spots. For example, you can't say someone like Sidney Rice or Zach Miller (both high 2nd round projections, Rice even a late 1st in some places) for our 3rd round pick etc. You CAN however, use guys like Quinn or Adrian Peterson for our 1st round picks because they have all been rumored to slide that far (if not further) at some point in time.

For anyone who doesn't know by now, our draft order is as follows:

Round 1, #9
Round 2, #40
Round 2, #60
Round 3, #71
Round 4, #108
Round 5, NONE
Round 6, #181
Round 7, #219
Round 7, #238

*we lost our second 6th round pick (#198) back to Denver since Wilkinson never showed up in Denver for his phyical :fire:.

Mine would be:

Round 1 (#9): Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Round 2 (#40): Ryan Kalil, C, USC
Round 2 (#60): Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State
Round 3 (#71): Quinn Pit****, DT, Ohio State
Round 4 (#108): Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame
Round 6 (#181): Brandon Sharp, FS, Louisville
Round 7 (#219): Nate Ilaoa, RB, Hawai'i
Round 7 (#238): Justin Hickman, LB, UCLA

Now, obviously some of these guys may go higher than I have them (Pit**** probably the most obvious), but I HAVE seen him around our pick in round three (the most recent Draft Tek mock his him going 4 picks AFTER us in round 3), therefore it is still within the guidlines.

So in my mock QB, WR, C, and OT needs are all addressed with quality players, and we also add depth at DT, S, LB, and RB. Pit**** would be a steal in the 3rd IMO, as he is projected as high as a first rounder.

Ok, everyone else's turn now

I ALMOST had us take Travarous Bain.

And I thought Smardjza chose baseball over football? If not he would be a late round 1/early round 2 guy.

Drafting Samardzija would secure the rights for him if he doesn't cut it in baseball. Its basically gambling a 7th round pick on the chance that a 1st/2nd round talent comes back to football.

Well I think to grab Quinn, we'd have to trade up. So I'm saying we swap first rounders and forfeit the 2nd rounder we received for Welker. So here is my dream mock.

1. Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
2. Ryan Kalil C USC
3. Brandon Meriweather FS Miami
4. Jason Hill WR Washington State
6. Tavarous Bain CB Hampton
7. Fastest man available to return kicks
7. Isiah Stanback QB/WR/S Washington

You broke the rules! :fire:

I would have trade scenerios too, because I also think the only way to get him is trade up, but prettymuch EVERY draft threat hs turned into trading up or down, so I wanted to be creative and have one where you pick the players you want assuming trades are not allowed and we HAVE to pick at those spots, and also assuming that players who have been rumored to be in a certain area (like Quinn around #9) would be there.

As far as the rights to Jeff Samardjiza, I would GLADLY do that. &th rounders don't USUALLY make the team anyway, so getting a 1st round talent in round 7 would be excellent. Plus, if we draft Brady Quinn I bet Jeff could be persuaded to come to the NFL, and we already know how successful THAT duo is.

Here's mine:

Round 1, #9 - Carriker, DE, Nebraska
Round 2, #40 - Zach Miller, TE, Arizona State
Round 2, #60 - Kevin Kolb, QB, Houston
Round 3, #71 - Satele or Datish, C, Hawaii/Ohio State
Round 4, #108 - John Wendling, FS, Wyoming
Round 5, NONE - None
Round 6, #181 - Ramonce Taylor, RB/WR, Texas
Round 7, #219 - Allen Barbre, OT, Missouri Southern
Round 7, #238 - Greg Lovely, CB, Missouri State

Round 1 (09) - Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State
Round 2 (40) - Arron Sears, OG, Tennessee
Round 2 (60) - LaMarr Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan
Round 3 (71) - Andy Alleman, OG, Akron
Round 4 (104) - Kenny Scott, CB, Georgia Tech
Round 6 (166) - Kolby Smith, RB, Louisville
Round 7 (200) - Xzavie Jackson, DE, Missouri
Round 7 (219) - Adam Koets, OT, Oregon State

#9- Gaines Adams
#40- Ryan Khalil
#60- Brandon Merriweather
#71- Buster Davis
#108- Kevin Kolb
#151- Lorenzo Booker
#219- Mike Walker
#238- OL

Quinn, and then fill in the rest with whoever and I'll be happy.

But I'd like to see

9 - Quinn
40 - Sears
60 - Wright
71 - Hill
108 -Bazuin
TE

A dream mock would be:

Round 1 (#9): Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Round 2 (#40): Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
Round 2 (#60): Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
Round 3 (#71): Zak DeOssie, LB, Brown
Round 4 (#108): Jonathan Wade, CB, Tennessee
Round 6 (#181): Doug Datish, C, Ohio State
Round 7 (#219): Paul Soliai, DT, Utah
Round 7 (#238): Justin Hickman, LB/DE, UCLA

The 1st 3 picks give us a solid foundation at 3 of the most important positions on offense with quality players. Quinn needs no introduction, Staley's got mad potential, and Sidney Rice could be a nice end-zone/possession WR. DeOssie is a smart LB who if we get him, will really tick off Belichick, who loved him enough to invite him to Patriot practices (and his daughter too). Wade's a guy with all the tools just needs the coaching. Datish likewise. And Soliai's perfect to be a solid run-stuffing NT in the league and Hickman's versatility replaces David Bowens.

Off-topic, but Orande Gadsden is my favorite Dolphins WR of all time

I'm in the same boat as you, if Roger Goodell announces Quinn's name for whatever pick we have I will probably havea heart attack out of pure excitment. I doubt I will even see the rest of the draft becuse I will drink myself into a stupor of joy . However, for the good of the team, I hope my "dream mock" pans out, as it covers pretty much all areas of need for starters AND depth (and still has us getting Quinn :D)

Think Sidney Rice will be there at #60? I have seen a lot of mocks where he is gone at the top of round two (even before our #40 pick) and even a few where he is late 1st round.
