Your team needs you

Not everyone here is completely disgusted with the team, its players, its coaches and administration. Our talent is above average, our coaching is improved from last year. We lost week one against the team leading the NFL in offense and arguably the best team in the league, and we were in the game. They borrowed the Oregon Ducks rapid fire offense as a gimmick and exhausted our defense. Good for them. No one has stopped it yet so now more teams (St. Louis) are trying it. We played our guts out but lost. Exhausted and on a short week Houston showed up, the team leading the NFL in total defense and another excellent team. We kept their scoring down, we moved the ball, we made some mistakes TO's and missed FG's. We were in the game with a chance to win against another great team. We do not belong in the same conversation with KC, Seattle, Cleveland, etc. We have the talent and ability to form a cohesive focused team and plenty of games left to build momentum for a playoff run. Players like JT, Bell, and Long can help increase team confidence, it shouldn't be up to the coaches to hold everyone's hand. Coaches coach, players play. As for fans, I come here and am amazed at the lack of confidence and incredible impatience I see. Some people here make it sound like we just got blasted 44-3 by the Seahawks, but that is not what's happened. I'm nowhere near pressing the panic button yet. Are there things we need to work on? Obviously. We are not the best or most talented team out there but with more cohesion and a winning attitude we can win a lot of games (see "Jets"). LET'S JUST KEEP IT REAL, FINHEAVEN!

Homers, haters set as aside your diferences this team needs your support. Yes it has not been a great start but its not beyond the realms of impossibilty that things can turn around.

At this point, forget about who possibly is going to be the next coach and GM and concentrate on supporting your team especially now in their struggles this past two games.

Even if the team ends up south this season at least put your efforts in giving them the support and encouragement needed. The players and coaches may let us down, but dont let yourselves down and stand strong for your team and its wonderful and proud tradition.

Being a fan is taking the rough and smooth in equal doses. Yes be critical in bad times and proud in good. But always remember you are a Fin.
Continuing to purchase gear and tickets only continues the problems we have had for a decade. The best way to speak is by supporting them from your living room and not at the stadium. Empty seats are the most powerful action fans can send the front office and ensure change. I hate saying it but it has come to this for me and a lot of people. No way in hell I shell out money for tickets, parking food and drinks until they put a decent product on the field. It's not entertaining.

So what now? Fire all of the coaches, trade all the good players, starve out the financial means of the team? Then what? Move the Dolphins to LA?

Works for me.

I live in Portland!

A little bit of an over reaction don't ya say?

You install a new GM and Head Coach.

"Over reaction", good choice of words.

No. I wait and see how the team responds to adversity in the next several weeks. Then I can make an educated decision about how to further improve the team be it by addition or subtraction. I don't have enough information yet.

There will be a time again I hope when we will be a contender and winning superbowls with the QB and coach we crave. But I want to look back at this period and hold my head high and say we supported and suffered with this team in its darkest hour.

The worst thing as a fan to be called is a gloryhunter that is only supporting a team when its doing well. New England springs to mind.
What things are we supposed to do to "support" the team?

Are we to agree with every decision the FO makes?
Are we to defend every player as being the best at his position in the NFL?

I've never heard the term "Gloryhunter".

I've been a fan of this team since 1972, when I first started watching football,
and I could really not give a crap less what people think of me an my status as
a fan.
