He wasn’t nominated to the HOF yet, he was nominated to the list to be CONSIDERED. I think he was last year too. Sadly I don’t think he gets in yet, perhaps not ever, which is a shame because his numbers hold up well against HOFers Ray lewis and Urlacher.

There was someone championing his cause on Good Morning Football recently, showing how well his stats hold up to Urlacher. And Urlacher was a first-ballot.

Zach not being a first ballot hall of Famer is mind boggling. 7 pro bowls 7 all pro selections, including 5 of which are first team. And all decade player for the 2000’s. How did it take this long?????

Sacks & picks. Tackles don't carry the weight of the sexy stats the HOF looks for.

I've gone back and forth on this but I think the HOF will eventually be so watered down that it will be impossible to keep him out.

Vincent is going in as an Eagle if elected. Would love to see Webb get in...obviously, but Zach is the one I am hugely pulling for.

In quickly scanning that list the slam dunk names looked like Ed Reed, Tony Gonzalez and Champ Bailey.

I can't see Vincent receiving much support when defensive backs like Reed and Bailey are in the same class.

Looks like Thomas has some competition in the small linebacker category now, with London Fletcher eligible. I view Thomas as superior but Fletcher was always extremely popular with broadcasters and he had a very long career with some iron man qualities. However, difficult to see a late bloomer like Fletcher as first ballot so not a threat to Thomas this time.

Steve Hutchinson probably goes. I know there was plenty of support for him last year. He definitely has the numbers in terms of Pro Bowl and All Pro.

So if that's 4 among Reed, Gonzalez, Bailey and Hutchinson there is probably only one player spot remaining. I was having a difficult time identifying someone.

I really think Sterling Sharpe was superior to his brother but that's another case of an injury shortened career, and those players typically have long waits, like Kenny Easley.

Might be a decent year for Jimmy Johnson to make it. I don't really see a certainty in the coaching category. But Johnson only coached 9 seasons.

They have been inducting 7 to 8 people each year since 2010. Too many IMO.

Overlooked coming into the league. Overlooked while he was in the league. Overlooked when he clearly deserves to be recognized now.

Criminal.

Yeah, I know but some of them are old timers and contributors and coaches. From recent era players like the named Dolphins I thought it was 5 but it looks like it can be 6.

One coach will make it, and either Bowlen or Brandt from the contributors. I hope it is Brandt since he's older and I've followed his career for 45+ years but I know Bowlen has had health scares.

Too bad Keuchenberg no longer appears on these lists. He was the one Dolphin from the glory era who deserved it but didn't get in, IMO. Others like Stanfill and Anderson had awesome ability but injury shortened careers and not as dominant at their positions as Dwight Stephenson was.

I've always felt that "First Team All-Pro" is the best honor any player can have on his resume. Zach has that honor five times, despite playing the same position as Ray Lewis with overlapping careers.

If you compare him against other linebackers, he's clearly deserving.

If he had self-promoted just a little bit, he'd already be in, IMO.
