Zac Taylor said Tannehill suggested the TD throw to Parker earlier in the week.

Its in the play book and he asked him to call the play...so what...the post was the 3rd progression even...not even the primary

Im sure in sideline i pad coverage looks between series they saw something they wanted to go after but he looked to the flat in his drop the bottom side route when he came set the middle seam next on the progression to hold the safety and then the top side post...

That play call vs that coverage should have the hold the safety to the seam first and then attack the post...not 3rd on the list

So if we can keep Tannehill clean long enough to get to his third progression good things happen? Who would've thought?

Yeah thats true but that vertical post should be higher up the progression vs that coverage...the main thing you got to do is put the safety in a bind seam or post and because tanny looked him to the seam the entire stem we could hit the post with no help defender

Ive seen us try to wait on the 3rd progression and qb get plowed so much i cant count them...cause protection just doesnt allow it

And hes not gonna look dump until he goes thru his progressions unless he sees color early and campbells even admitted hes coached that way...so what you get is a qb standing in and getting teed off on

Do you think the progression is the play call or how Tannehill read the defense? With how everything in this offense seems to be geared to throwing to the first open receiver I thinks it's the former.

On a side note. God damn this team needs a HC/OC who can scheme against mismatches. There is plenty of talent on offense to do so. Also, the team will be much better off cap wise. The new coach will definitely cut the dead weight. The team is a MLB, CB & OG away from being damn good. I don't even think DE is a top 3 concern right now. Suh and Phillips will take a lot of pressure of them going forward.

From the tape you've seen is that a consistent factor in Lazor's playbook or are the progressions ever logically sequenced?

Hes reading man vs zone...the look to the flat tells me its the play call cause he has no intentions of throwing it there but he begins his progressions from that side and works bottom to top...flat in the drop to bottom side route to seam to post

Id say over 75 percent of the progressions man vs zone are shorter routes higher...like on repeat...the vertical routes are either down the progression or clear outs for routes under them...on repeat...although coverage dictates the progressions are short passing game very heavy early...and our route combos are being sat on by down and distance and coverage played db depth wise thus so many contested

For example the late shift of the back from one side to the other of the qb in shotgun is about outflanking the opposition...the throw to the rb in the flat after that late shift is the primary...when you gain 3 or 0 yards there its the primary and the qb is just executing the call...not a "check down"

Its a heavy horizontal emphasis passing game

If you run an audible system tanny can check to a play at the los once he ids that coverage look that attacks it higher on the progression...doesnt necessarily have to be the deep post and deep seam but one where he holds the safety to the seam and attacks the boundary coverage or vice versa...

The thing is though the way it is now on that play if the under route had been open when he came off the flat the ball would have gone there and we never get the deep post 38 yard chunk play

My God. Has there ever been an organization that has failed as miserably as the Dolphins at developing a young quarterback or building around him. What a disgrace. Please, by some miracle, find a coaching staff that is competent and knows how to develop a gb and attack a defense.
