I was just on the sun sentinel site looking at some videos with sparano, and i noticed under the other videos that had a clipping of zach thomas unscrewing his private parking sign and taking it with him, the commentation noted this is an unusual thing in the offseason(and that this video is from when tuna was just hired and cam was still here). anyone heard anything on this or seen the video?

My dad told me he heard about this on sirius radio. he said that they were also speculating that we were gonna ship him to the Cowboys. maybe they were just playing the percentages based on what we've done recently....

Knowing the media circus that was going on around that time, and the type of characters Zach, JT, Vonnie, Joey and the rest of the vets on D are, I wouldnt be the least bit surprised if this was planned as a joke to see if the media would catch on and make a story out of nothing. If you look, he has a smile on his face, like "Ha! Knew you'd like this." Just my take.

Hope you're right, I would hate to see Zach go.

I still think that Zach would be a big contributor on our defense. I don't think I could watch him in another uniform.

I can't see Zach going anywhere next season. I think he will renegotiate his deal and play perhaps a couple more seasons and retire as a fin. He really just does not have any trade value anymore so as far as a trade we probably wont get anything better than a fourth rounder! No way I trade zach for a fourth rounder. Lets just hope he heals up and can give us a couple more seasons.

Zach will heal up just fine. If he had to I think he could have played this season, I think they were just playing it very safe seeing as it wasn't worth risking his health and ever playing again just to help the phins not lose every game.

ps DAMN ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!

I think that is a common occurence at the end of the season, nothing really to worry about. Although I think that Zach needs to be sat down and made to think of his life after football should he suffer another concussion.

I could deal with McMike, Chris Chambers and most of the other guys we let go, but not Zach and JT, those guys are forever Dolphins in my mind.

Yea I agree.. Hate to see him end his stellar career like that but he needs to consider the idea that there is life after the NFL...:(

A healthy Zack should contribute, but as much as I have read, he's not 100% yet since the accident. A medical report on sports rehab, says that this kind of non-football brain injuries are harder for older players, specially for constant hit positions, like LB.
A trade to the cowboys sounds false, they would add a younger LB, and even with ZT stats, they have talented LBs on their roster, so, unlike previous Dolphins' staffs, the 'boys won't accept an injured player, they'll trade only if they are sure he's healthy. And a healthy ZT is a treasure for our roster and Parcells knows it, so i conclude that won't happen.
So, if Zack is not OK, I would prefer an early retirement than seeing him going downhill within our roster or traded. :(

Yeah, I saw that too, the report said this was unusual, but I heard he does this every year during the offseason. Who knows

Would hate to see him go,but also don't want to see him eating through a straw before he's 50.There's life after football and he's such a film rat that, the transition to the coaching ranks should be an easy one.

It is common to take down the players parking spot signs. But what is not typical is a player doing it. They have staff that does those sorts of things. It tells me Zach is keeping it as a momento. He may very well be retiring. He has his health to thank of. Why would he jeopardize the rest of his life for what would be no better than a 6 or 7 win season?
