With Zach on the market a few teams have interest in him (unfortunately this includes the Jets and Bills) but NE has already gave him an offer and he has a visit scheduled there this week. It was a heartbreak to see Zach Thomas leave and i think an angel lost its wings somewhere when that happened, but out of our rivalry with the Patriots I think he shouldn't go there. He knows that many of his fans ,who I'm sure will still be faithful, would Hate to see him in New England. What do you guys think

If he wants to get a Superbowl ring, why not go there? I wouldn't do anything to appease the people involved with the job I just got fired from.

The guy wants to win. He can go wherever he wants. I'll stick to what I said earlier, though. If he goes to NE, I will not wear his jersey again until he retires.

The thing is, he doesn't owe the fans anything. Football is a business and getting cut for various reasons happens. It was his time to move on and his career is coming to an end. Let the guy go to whatever team he thinks he has the best shot at a ring with. It isn't like he begged to be traded or demanded more than he was worth...he was cut.

Hmmm let me think, loyalty to the dolphin Fans who cheered him on for years, bought his shirt and held him in God like status or loyalty to his family, wife and kids and making sure he takes care of them first and formost. Lets be honest here fellas, if the Pats deal is the best deal for him and his then I have no problem with him signing it. take care of the family first, end of.

i won't hate to see him there. he has given his heart and soul to this organization, which has become a joke throughout the league. they cut him. he owes the Miami Dolphins nothing.

the New England Patriot's would give Zach Thomas a chance to compete for a Super Bowl title. i hope both he and Jason Taylor get the shot to win one. unfortunately that is going to mean they have to do it with another team.

1. Pride doesn't pay the bills.
2. The Miami Dolphins FIRED Zach Thomas. He didn't leave or ask to be traded, he was fired.
3. If a guy wants to win a Super Bowl before he retires, why not go to the only team to ever go 18-0 and is favored to win next years super bowl already?

I'd hate to see Zach in Blue and Red, but I won't blame him if he does it, and maybe I'll hate the Pats a little less if they can give Zach what he deserves..

There is no such thing as loyalty in sports anymore. And its a two way street. The teams let players go when they start to decline, and vice versa, star players leave struggling teams to go to contenders.

i had a similar discussion with a friend the other day about how much Zach being cut stings... he was of the same mindset as you. and that is fine, you have every right to feel that way.

the older i get, i am coming to realize how completely mercenary sports are, especially at the pro level, but increasingly at the college level as well.

and while i still have my favorite teams, i increasingly find myself becoming more of a fan of the individuals who play the game and conduct themselves with honor and class, and i will NOT deprive myself of rooting for a guy like Zach Thomas regardless of what jersey he wears next season.

I would love to see Zach visit the other teams, get his true market value and then see Dolphins mgmt add an additional $500k to bring him back. Probably won't happen though.
Remember Parcells' comment about "why would we let the good ones go?" Well this is one we should've kept here to help rebuild the team.

everytime I see this quote I have to take a deep breathe and wonder what some people are thinking about.

Zach Thomas, as does every football player in the NFL, owes the fan EVERYTHING. Where do you think all those NFL and team revenue come from. How do you think these players get pay checks every week? Thin air, poof, there it is, no, its from jersey sales the fan pays for, from product sales the fan pays for, from ticket sales the fan pays for, from parking tickets the fan pays for, from endorsement deals for products the fan pays for...

Football players owe the fan everything including their livelyhood. No fan, no NFL... Period

everyone crying about how he was fired?

he was released...early....so he could have time to go where he wants

do you even know for sure that zach didn't want to be released so he could pursue a winning team to end his career?

christ if we would have waited and then traded him to a ****ty team for a draft pick, dont you think that would have been worse for him??

if he goes to new england, i will root against him with extreme force. i hate and despise that franchise, and in light of their coach's "practices" i hate them even more and have no respect for the team or coach. if zach wants to play for a cheater then fine.

i laughed at seau crying when the pats lost the superbowl, and i will laugh at zach as well and make fun of his bleeding elbow

it hurts more if he signs there, than the day he was released.
