This is a fantastic read for the Grier bashers

My take is he's done good enough to not get fired. But regardless of "if" he was GM or not when tanne****baum was here is irrelevant to me. He was GM then and he is now and we haven't won **** since he started. Going back farther to being the head of the scouting team, who have we drafted that's been a HOF player since, let's just say, 2007? Hint: that's a key year for Grier

EDIT: Maybe HOF player is too much. What players have we drafted that has any implications of being a HOF?

Ppl already know my take on him... personally I'm done with his ass but unfortunately I love this team so I have to embrace the suck

Can we give it a rest already?

There is 5% of people who think Grier is the worst GM in the world - you can guarantee 5% of every population everywhere on every topic is absolutely going to have a moron take.

There is a solid 50+% of us who think Grier is “ok”. He’s mediocre. He’s doing some great things right now, that’s what we say every offseason… and yet here we are, 20 years later, without a playoff win.

How about the 10-20% of you obsessed with defending Grier get off his dick and come back down to reality? Or at least stop posting so much.

He doesn’t need defending. HIS TEAMS NEED TO PRODUCE.

Truer words have never been spoken

Reality is that by every reasonable measure Grier has been well above average as a GM since given full control in 2019. The "yeah but" crowd who unreasonably thinks that playoff wins are solely on the GM are the only ones who think Grier has been average or less.

For some reason there is always a sub-section of football fans who will pick one person, usually the Owner, GM, the HC or the QB and blame that one person for not winning SBs, playoffs or the W/L record.

If your team makes it into the playoffs, you have out produced 1/2 the league

isn’t there only one team in the league with a longer playoff win drought than us?

I don’t even get why anyone has to combat my opinion - it’s not even edgy… I’m just saying he’s not worth defending so vehemently like we see on this forum.

While I do agree with the majority of the article- grading Eich as a B- and referring to him as an ascending player- and I truly hope he is getting better, and continues to develop- is a bit much …. To trade up for who turned out to be a career back up, considering we coulda and shoulda had Creed Humphrey at that pick, is a failed pick
I agree. But look at how the other picks turned out.

This is a big year, a prove it year, for Eichenberg.

Dolphins;
GMs and Scouts don’t pick the players, the Coaches do.

Without playoff success soon, Ross could sour on Grier. But it's hard not to see that he's drafted well.

I think he swings for the fences a lot. Even McDaniel was a swing for the fences pick at head coach. While I think McDaniel is off to a good start, this rebuild might have been more successful with a Sean Payton type. An experienced head coach.

That's not meant as a knock on McDaniel, but I think most of us would agree he's learning on the job and has made mistakes that have cost the team a few wins.

To be fair, he's also a big part of a dynamic offense.

The bottom line is winning big, though, and Grier hasn't done that yet.

Agree. Big swings . Some have worked out others not just like most GMs in the NFL.

I can pick out great moves by Grier and head scratchers… but team results are what they are. Grier is the longest serving GM without a playoff win on his resume. Hopefully, we’ll break the playoff win drought to validate Grier’s work.
