Jeb Bush & Derek Jeter want to buy the Marlins

I don't care much for baseball but I will say this about the current owner. At least he got that team out of the Dolphins stadium.

No, the tax payers of Miami paid for that stadium. Loria put up less than 20% of the cost.

The joke of that is that the value of that stadium he did not pay for increases his net worth substantially by increasing the value of the team. So he gets to sell the Marlins now and be paid the value of a stadium that was given to him by the tax payers.

Corporate welfare, how does it work?

I don't care who paid for it. It happened under his ownership so that means he is the one who wanted a new stadium. Credit goes to him and his underlings for getting the city to pay for it. Either way I am glad they are gone.

I am wondering who footed the majority of the bill. Bush and Jeter do not have close to a billion dollars.

They are the marquee names but it's probably a group of investors that want to remain anonymous some of whom could piss a billion buck.

:laugh ... The Marlins:

Terrible. We're officially a farm team for the Yankees now.

Just pathetic.

Hey Jeter, we will always have 2003, you ****ing **** sucker.

What did you expect?

Hey tried to trade Stanton to two other teams but he refused to play for those teams.
Oh please. That was lip service to justify trading him to the Yankees.

You can't fault Jeter at all for this.

If all you care about is going (or not going) to the game to watch Stanton hit homers, then keeping him in Miami would of been the best move.

That payroll was ridiculous . . .unmanageable. The team had ZERO pitching. They were going nowhere with Stanton.

The best move of course was blowing it up, as much as I hate to say it. Loria and Samson gave out terrible contracts to I guess make the team more sellable.

Mission accomplished, now Jeter will take the blame but he will certainly get the accolades for turning it around.

And sure I only went to 3 games this year, but I bet that is better than most. I had a good time each time and we lost 2 of those 3 games, and Stanton was terrible in all 3 games . . . And I still had a good time because I like baseball and would still go whether he is there or not.

So rebuild the farm system, develop the talent and resurface in two or 3 years with a young, competitive team than can reignite the fanbase and the area . . . Because the next 2 years will be grim for sure.

I feel guilty being excited about this because of the nothing the yanks gave up. Castro and a few prospects? Thanks Jetes ... *winks*.

This team should murder the all time team HR total this year. Batting order should be fun for the new skip.
