Filling the FS gap in free agency..

I know he's not likely to fall to us, but I'm dreaming of drafting Fitzpatrick and playing him as a rangy FS while Jones drops the hammer at SS.

Agreed. I've liked the kid since he was a freshman. So much versatility with him. He's also a big time leader.

I feel the same way about Quenten Nelson amd Tremaine Edmunds at this point. If just 1 of those 3 are available i think its best case scenario. Each of those players could take their units to a high level.

I got Derwin James, Roquan Smith, Vita Vea in the group right behind them. James would be my pick there. We need more picks so if Arizona wants to give me a 2nd rounder to move up for QB ill take it.

Draft Derwin James at #11

Take a deep breathe Miami, pace yourself...

You guys are crazy James will be no where near 11 hes not getting by tampa.

this draft has Fitzpatrick & Mayfield being available but we take Vea

Don't really want Mayfield but one of Vea, Smith, Edmunds, James or Fitzpatrick will fall.

If Cards want to trade up to our pick and five us their 3rd, I could do that and take

pick 15 Vander Esch
2nd round TE
3rd rounds two of FS/RB/QB
4round Dt and what we didn't address in R3.

That said if you believe a player will be a top-5 player at his position you have to take him. In most spots on our team that's an upgrade.

I want FS, and believe we will get one, but nor do I believe we should or will get one with the #11 pick. We need another premium LB and a premium TE far too much, to try and get a FS.

We get a quality LB, and I think the LB squad will be much much better this year. Same goes for a really good TE, give Tannehill a really good to possibly great TE, and Miami's effectiveness on Offense this year compared to last year will be night and day.

Unless one of the LBs Miami likes is gone, and a FS they like is still there, Miami will have to use one of those 4th on a FS.

I have been saying this for years...FS is exactly what this team is missing.
Reid from SF is gonna get the kaperdick affect.
Wondering where Reid from Stanford will go now after a pretty damn good Combine?
Wouldn't mind James from FSU but I am concerned about the why he didn't he play up to his ability? Was it coaching? Was it him?was it both?

I don’t want and more Free agents.

Any changce Minkah Fitzpatrick drops to us at 11?

While I think there are a lot of good ideas on this thread I agree we need to pick up a body for that rotational or injured S situation. We just tendered Lucas so that’s it. I’m not comfortable with that but I am even more uncomfortable with our starting 3 LB. I’m sure you are all tired of seeing TE and slot guys sit in the zone or run past our LB. there is no other choice if Raquan is available. Imagine having a LB with sideline to sideline range, McMillian coming back and thumping like he should and Alonzo not carrying the load. With our hybrid D Line, expect to see DE dropping into coverages, I’m a little scarred about that if we don’t have a LB with Range. LB at 11 no matter what I say.

Dude i agree wholeheartedly.

I just hope we don't go DT. Are FO reaches to much, and we can get a great player with all the QBs going before we pick. Go after James..

Hard to plug the gap when the FO don't even think it exists :(

Eric Reid - DB - Free Agent
Free agent Eric Reid has interest from a "couple teams."

Reid doesn't have any known visits to this point. The 49ers are moving on from him, but he should land a deal in the third wave of free agency. Reid is the top safety available behind Kenny Vaccaro.

I wonder if the dolphins are one of those teams.

While I agree LB needs upgrading, I don’t think taking a 4-3 OLB at 11 is a good idea at all. If we ran a 3-4 I could see us go after one of the top guys in Smith or Edmunds. I don’t think either is an Elite 4-3 MLB warranting a number 11.

If we could land Fitzpatrick in round 1 followed by a TE in round 2 and Shaqueam Griffin in round 3 I would be jacked!
