Not to totally defend the contract, because I wanted them to wait for starters, but I think Hoops made a good point that it isisnt the easiest thing in the world to totally rebuild your enttire LB core quickly . I'm more upset with some of the LB we could have had a chance on and passed on over the last few years
Just a thought on Hightower's - his body isint going to hold up IMO, thats why I wasnt in for giving him a huge contract.
I don't see what that has to do with the decision to extend him when he had a year left?
It's not like he shredded his knee twice already
I said I preferred they wait- the consideration was lets say they waited and he decided to leave. Your left with little at LB like we already have-since they basically havent put the proper resources into the position.
Check Hightower's injury history- its not pretty- and he was hurt this year already. It would have been a mistake to pay him a bunch, probably why most teams didnt.
