Anyone notice # 93 our boy erik walden??

Interesting how many NFL Players are just an "opportunity" away from making an NFL Career ....

I found this on Walden's Wikipedia bio ... he bounced from Dallas to KC to Miami & was picked up by Green Bay when half their team got injured (& we beat them crippled up) ....

"Green Bay Packers: Walden was signed off the street by the Packers on October 31, 2010. Walden had his best game for the Packers on January 2, 2011 starting against the Chicago Bears. Walden led the team with 3 sacks and 16 tackles and was named NFC Defensive Player of the week. He finished the season with twenty tackles in 9 games (two starts)"

an even better play was Hawks deflection in the end zone that drew a lame interference call.

Last year Miami had a ridiculous number of blocked kicks from the preseason into the beginning of the season. They were not all Walden's fault, but in game#3 against the Jets, Miami has another blocked punt that effectively cost the game.

#33 gets by #53 in the 3rd quarter 2 minutes into the highlight.

Despite Walton's potential and positive plays, he was cut after the game. Special teams didn't get alot better, but the blocked kicks resolved.

Point is Miami didn't cut Walden because of poor talent evaluation, but to stop the special teams devastation and introduce accountability.

exactly the packers gave up a ton of points with Walden, he cant crack the line up on our team cuz guess what? we have a better defense! defense isnt the problem with our team you can complain when a good offensive player leaves but defensively you cant complain
LOL @ this!!!

not to mention their coordinator is Dom Capers who is our last DC, we got Mike Nolan who is better. we traded up

maybe but lets not act like capers has not lead some top defenses.

He forgot a coach name, that's a no no under Sparano.

played decent, always liked him but never thought he would amount to a starter... but lets not blow too much sunshine up his a**. the sack he recorded was due to brees holding the ball too long on a role out to the other side of the field.
Agree! To say he played sick is a massive over statement. He went unnoticed until he made that pass defense against Graham and the sack came because Brees held the ball too long and turned into Walden because he saw Mathews coming. He's a nice player, hardly a game changer and definitely doesn't need a thread started for him everytime he makes a tackle

this could be said about any player who was ever cut by 1 team and the signed by another team and did well

The Giants probably remembered letting Cam Wake walk......cant win em all

i think we picked up the better LB though.....:hi5:

Yeah I was real impressed that he was part of a 34 point defense. Hes the kind of player that contributes to that point total. Guess what we have a 17 point defense, his play doesn't cut it around here. I mean really it doesn't matter if the kid made a play or two he was on the field and eventually every player on the filed gets plays his way and they make a couple of tackles. Lets not over value our retreads on a bad defense.

This thread is laughable at best. Is there a thread seriously complaining and crying about the Erik Walden?? The guy makes a few good plays and is all of a sudden a HOF because he was cut by Miami. Let Ingram have got that touchdown yesterday and all the "Thats why you draft Ingram" threads pop out. What's next, are we gonna say how Walden is better than Cameron Wake because he went in unblocked and sacked Drew Brees??

Cutting a guy with talent to "introduce accountability" is short sighted. I would rather have Ross introduce accountability by cutting the HC.

This is the NFL every guy has talent. If he was that great he would never have been cut. He was cut because he was a special teams guy who wasn't good on special teams.
