I feel That the pick up of thomas jones was the best move this offseason. it gives the Jets There First Number one Back since Curtis Martin Should take pressure of pennington and allow leon washington to be used in more of a 3rd down and specialist role that better suits him and our team

IF (and it's a big if) Randy Moss is anythin close to the Moss of pre '04 then that's the best move at least short term.

i think thomas jones and joey porter... moss is too much of an unknown at this point...

but jones gives you guys a feature back and you got some good depth and change of pace guys behind him so you'll do well there...

porter just makes our defense that much more scary with a premier pass rusher on the other side of JT... i dont know what people are talking about with him losing a step, those are just stat watchers and saw his sacks drop so they figure hes starting to decline, but watch games and hes been asked to do different things and has done all those things well... including still getting pressure on the passer...

I think its Jones. Maybe Adalius Thomas is better as his position than Thomas Jones, but the reality is that RB's can make a much larger impact than LB's. You figure he will be the #1 back getting 300 carries. Its pretty hard to find anyone is equally good and will make a huge impact as Thomas Jones will to the Jets.

That would be true if A.Thomas was only being used at linebacker. With his versatility the Patriots will line him up all over the field on both sides of the ball and get more out of him than any other team could've.

thomas has been a jouneyman all his career and their got be a reason please do not defend a guy who never became the featured franchise back.He is on his 4th team and also RB who 30 kinda start to get dinged up he is 30 when the season start.

I think Thomas Jones will be a good pick up. Not better than Adalius Thomas, but still a good pickup. He may be approaching 30 but he hasn't been a full time back his whole career. His carries were limited in Arizona which got him labeled as a bust. He never really carried the load in Tampa and in Chicago he was "the man", but still was never really a workhorse. I think he still has a few solid years in him.

I agree that it's Thomas Jones. Thomas was a great pickup, but I don't think he'll have the same impact on his team. NE's defense wasn't dying for him the way NY was for a RB like Jones.

what did the Jets give up for TJ ??

On paper today, Thomas Jones and Adalius Thomas, at the end of the year, Derrick Dockery.
