Brady willing to go to Federal Court if suspension up held

I heard Baltimore and Indy are pushing Goodell hard to uphold the punishment.

I wonder if the NFL is waiting out Tom. The longer they wait with the appeal the more chance the court case and resolution could push to late season or even the playoffs.

Would be a gamble for Brady to go to court, He could miss more important games rather than the ones in September.

This is "according to Stephen A. Smith, so take it for what it is, but....

Appearing on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith said the NFL will announce Tom Brady's four-game suspension has been upheld within the next 24-48 hours.
Stephen A. is not the kind of media personality we normally cite for breaking news. But Adam Schefter also opined similarly Tuesday morning, saying the NFL doesn't feel "inclined to budge much" and adding he expects the suspension to stay at four games. Making an announcement before the Patriots open training camp Thursday is only fair. Brady and the NFLPA won't go down without a fight though, as they'll sue the NFL in court and try to get Brady on the field Week 1. Roger Goodell knew that, giving him zero incentive to look weak and reduce the ban. Brady's true fate will rest with a judge.

I think the NFL's out is to say that Brady didn't cooperate. So even if they go to court and the judge says there's no proof of guilt if the NFL proves Brady didn't cooperate they can't do anything

They had a lawyer named Roger Cossack on ESPN today. He said courts are reluctant to take up these type of appeals unless the Patriots can show they have a good chance of winning, and he also said courts are unwilling to overturn collective bargaining decisions. The NFLPA gave the Commissioner the power to review these things and make decisions such as this, especially for on-the-field issues. This isn't like the Adrian Peterson or Ray Rice off-the-field issues. This is about protecting the integrity of the game, and not allowing teams or players to cheat.

That worked out well for Aaron Hernandez and his security system. :sarcon:

Must be the "Patriot Way"
