Cap Space!!! (about $35.5 Million)

good we need to pick up an Olineman and a DB through free agency then go Dline in the draft cuz like it or not we are real old at Dline. And i'm still for drafting Trae Williams from South Florida in the second rd of the draft.

Thanks for the link.

What about WAS? Will they be able to field a competitive team in 2008?

I say our F.O. should monitor that situation and grab the best players WAS has to cut among other things.

Thank you Randy Mueller......

HERESY!:D

Our record stunk, Mueller and Cam did their best work for the Dolphins off of the field....Porter is arguable, right now he is our best LB though...

Booker was going to make 4.3 mil and Shelton 3 million heck Chambers was slated to pull in almost 8 million next year...

The Ravens and Redskins have Cap problems, with the Ravens having a few good players coming up for FA this year.

I'm thought a lot of other "sources" have said we're closer to 25mil but after cuts we'd be closer to 30-35 mil. i.e. M.booker 4millionish with no cap penalty. I hope your right because we'd be in great shape to add a lot of solid players and maybe a top ender as well.

thats because the $35.5mil is "current" not counting the roster bonuses coming to players like joey porter, jason allen, and a few others. so it will be about $25mil after the roster bonuses.

but m booker will be cut as may probably be zach thomas. that will clear another $10mil. so we can still 'end up' at $35.5mil.

Ok thanks for this info man .... i think booker is gone and there is going to be a big name signed on offense . zack thomas will be discussed a lot , i hope he stays , but he is a salary concern and his health and age do matter now . i like what i see .....there is room for at least 2 very good players signed via FA .

I just hope some of that money is spent on getting Assaunte Samuels.

i like samuels as much as anyone (ucf alum), but i think hes going to want to much money for what hes worth (see nate clements), unless your champ bailey, i dont agree with paying secondary players big salaries, you can get a great secondary by going through the draft and having a good defensive scheme.

we can get so many good players with this money. U can spend money on 3 top players easily.

Yeah, the key is to get young players on their way up not older veterans:

1. Jared Allen, DE (25 Years Old)
2. Max Starx, OT (25 Years Old)
3. Rex Hadnot, OG (25 Years Old) - Our own.
4. Michael Lehan, CB (26 Years Old) - Our own

etc.

etc.
