Your needs:

1) OL: especially LT, but both Ruddy and Perry have been mentioned as cap casualties in the past, so interior OL could be addressed on day two. Also, RT Wade is UFA after the season and there is always the possibility he could enter FA (I would expect him to sign a new deal this off-season).

2) OLB: Neither Rodgers nor Greenwood are anything to write home about, however, Greenwood is still young and has upside. Rodgers can be, at best, a 3rd OLB and special teams player. No guarantee that Seau ends up with Miami, but if he does, he is 34 and a young OLB for depth, ST's, and the future is needed.

3) WR: Chambers is a potential true #1 WR but isn't quite there yet. Thompson is definitely an upgrade over Ward(released). McKnight could fit in as a #3 WR but has also been mentioned as a potential cap casualty. Not much after those 3.

4) S: Freeman is RFA and could sign an offer sheet any day. Right now, who would replace him? Could Marion shift to SS? Is McGarrahan capable to step in? Doubt it. I expect Miami to match any offer sheet but depth and a long-term replacement for Marion is needed.

5) depth on DL: Yes, DT. Bowens cap numbers start increasing after 2003 and he has a pricey roster bonus before 2004. Haley could be lost as a RFA and while you'll get a draft pick for him, Zgonina is already 32. Never can have too many DL

6) CB: Is Fletcher capable of replacing either Surtain or Madison long-term? What about Buckley? I would have my doubts, but I had hoped the Bills would grab Omare Lowe last year and he appears to have some potential as a 3rd CB or even as depth inside at S.

7) TE: after 2003, only one TE will be under contract. Nothing wrong with drafting for depth if the right TE is available.

Using the my post from the main forum........

You picks per Ourlads(* means it's compensatory and cannot be traded):

2,49
3,87
5,156
5,169*
6,209*
6,213*
7,247
7,248*

I predict that you will trade DT Haley for a 5th(#140 from Washington), my mock......

2,49: S Troy Polamula(USC): BPA at position of need. Versatile as he can play both S spots and can also play on slot WRs due to his solid cover skills.

3,87: OT Wayne Hunter(Hawaii): Not ready for prime-time, but has tremendous upside. Can play both T spots but most likely groomed for LT due to his athletism.

5,140: LB Eddie Moore(Tennessee): WOLB candidate. Has bulked up to the mid 230s and still ran sub 4.7s. Offers STs potential as he learns the defense.

5,156: DE Osi Umenyiora(Troy St): Not close to being a huge contributor, but someone who needs to be brought along slowly. Offers versatility as he can project inside if he bulks up. Has the physical tools, needs coaching and experience.

5,169: CB Asante Samuel(Cen Florida): Bit soft as a player but can contribute in the nickel or dime packages while also helping on STs. Needs to be more physical.

6,209: G Zach Wilson(USC): Need to add depth to the interior OL. Tough but lacks athleticism.

6,213: TE Kevin Ware(Washington): Good blocker but needs to add bulk to excel. Could provide competition for the #3 TE spot and can help to hedge potential FA losses after the 2003 season

7,247: RB Dwone Hicks(M. Tenn St): Seems that Miami drafts a RB every year and why not in rd 7. He can provide depth and contribute on STs

7,248: WR/RS Keenan Howry(Oregon): Return specialist but could also line up in the slot as a 3rd WR.

Thoughts?

T.P.'s cover skills aren't that great.

Osi Umenyiora is more of a 3rd round pick. He just ran a 4.6 40 time at 270+ lbs and had a fantastic vertical leap. He's shooting up draft boards.

It is a good evalutation. It is pretty hard trying to figure out who will be left in 2nd, 3rd, 4th... rounds. I think Hunter was a huge stretch in the 3rd. Some have him as a first round pick, but more likely a mid 2nd rounder.

Clump, that would be an awesome draft for the Dolphins.

But you forgot one thing, if we draft Polamula it will most likely be because we either traded Freeman or he signed with another team, so that means we would have an extra 5th round pick.

If that is the case, I see the Dolphins trading up somehow instead of sticking with so many low round draft picks, and hopefully by trading up they will be able to draft Foster instead of Hunter.

But Polamula, Hunter are key.

The only thing I'd disagree with is Hicks, only because we still have Leonard Henry from last year, but it's only a 7th rounder.

If Hunter fell to us in the third I'd be estatic.

I have ya drafting a RB cuz y'all seem to draft one every year

Polamula, I believe, can play both S spots and thus could be groomed for FS.

Hunter: I haven't seen any mocks that have him going in the 1st rd and it's unlikely he'll be drafted before his teammate G Manuwai. I believe Hunter in rd 2 to be a bit of a reach but I guess understandable given the fact that the talent at LT dries up quickly this year

Thanks for comments :)

Since I don't know enough about college players to know whether they are any good or not, I can only give you my opinion based on their names.....

Troy Polamula.....excellent first choice.....unique name....the only better one IMO would have been Tino Pissmeoffsomemorea....or however you spell it....

Wayne Hunter....not so sure about this one....I've tried saying Hall of famer Wayne Hunter over and over again and it just starts sounding like nonsense after awhile....

Eddie Moore......reminds me of Eddie Robinson....I don't like eddie Robinson's name so...no Moore please.

Osi Umenyiora......a real sleeper here....could possibly go higher if I could figure out how to say his name....I really like this pick though....

Asante Samuel....." Asante" is cool but, "Samuel"?.....I don't like this pick....I think we could find a guy with a cooler last name with this pick.

Zach Wilson.....again the last name brings up horrible memories of Jerry Wilson but the first name nullifies that....good choice...good value...

Kevin Ware, Dewone Hicks and Keenan Howry....all have a decent names but nothing special.....maybe they'll make the team maybe not.
