I really want some smart players here. Isn't Egnew proof enough that physically gifted but mentally limited players will not cut it in the Dolphins' offense? I love Patterson's physical ability but just can't invest a first round pick in someone who the lights may never come on for.

This is as good a place as any to put this, but Evan Silva cited Russ Lande saying that Patterson has been "very unimpressive in team interviews". Now there's a 75% chance this is just spin by team/s, but it just got me thinking.

From listening to this interview you can tell he isnt the brightest or most well spoken kid so it would not surprise me that he did not interview well.

On a side note did anyone find it concerning that he mentions when they ask what he needs to improve on and he says "My route running, cause sometimes I tend to slack off a little bit?"

Egnew biggest problem isn't his mentally its his physicality. Sure he has good speed but he soft.
