If/when we draft Mark Ingram, we'll have no need for a 3rd down back b/c Ingram is complete RB.

We still need another quality RB if we draft Mark Ingram, preferbly a change of pace guy . . . even Minnesota drafted the kid from Stanford to pair up with AP. I just think you can save on a guy like Sproles who would want 4 million a year or so, and get a guy in the middle of the draft who is younger, faster and cheaper. Obviously that guy is not as guaranteed as Sproles, but I think there will be some good options in round 4.

Several free agent running backs seem poised to return to their previous teams: Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG), Mike Tolbert (SD), Cedric Benson (CIN) and DeAngelo Williams (CAR) among them (Pierre Thomas just re-signed with New Orleans).

Of the free agent running backs who could help the Dolphins (particularly in the areas of speed and kick returning), the best options may be: Darren Sproles (SD), Michael Bush (OAK), Kevin Smith (DET), soon-to-be-cut Willis McGahee (BAL) and Jerious Norwood (ATL). Sproles and Norwood are the most intriguing because of their speed, which Ireland said is a priority this offseason, though injuries are a concern with Norwood.
