Depth on this team, is it

There's one more angle to the depth thing in NE. Belichick likes guys who are versatile. For example, he'll draft or sign an offensive lineman who can play both guard and center over a guy who is strictly a center. Also, he has defensive linemen who can play inside and outside (Seymour, Warren). Linebackers who can drop into coverage or rush the passer (McGinest, Vrabel), play inside or outside (Bruschi, Phifer). The list goes on and on.
And then you couple that with the fact that Belichick is also an excellent teacher. He will take a guy 2nd or 3rd (preferably with that versatility) on someone else's depth chart and turn them into a player who can fill in when someone gets hurt, without a significant dropoff in performance. Rodney Bailey (DL) is one of this years projects. He plucked him off the Steelers roster. Similar to Vrabel, but this guy's more of a strictly down lineman (I think). Maybe he will bust, but keep an eye on him because most of you guys probably never heard of him.
edit: I compared Bailey to Vrabel because they both played at OSU and were stolen from the Steelers roster. Not really suggesting they are similar players (they are not).
